Hello all. I have severe pain that's been progressing over the years. I have a lumbar stenosis and associated probs, and osteoarthritis. I ,like all of us , got used to pain being there all the time. I feel like all my internal bits are stuck together and nothing releases them . Does anyone feel /relate to feeling like this ?
All stuck together: Hello all. I have severe... - Pain Concern
All stuck together
You seem to do all the right things to get pain relief! Sad to say have same.....had sciatica numerous times and my MRI reads like a road map to hell. Stenosis, herniated discs, arthritis, bone spurs, etc etc...... im 84 and take no meds of any kind except on painful days a 50 mg Tramadol which gets me thru. But 3x a week physical therapy for the past 4 years, and every day my stretch exercises lying on my back. Due to Covid i have not been back to therapy for almost a year but do my specific stretches every day. It took a year at least to notice the changes but most days are mostly pain free! Just not sitting too much, walking around every 20 min and then sit again. Keep moving and best of luck!
Thanks Barbola , yes I agree with the moving around ,not sitting too long. I also have exercises I do and use a bike and youtube videos to exercise , definately stay active..sadly at present im having to take my painkillers. Hopefully when it warms up a bit I can drop then down again. best wishes to you Jan
I have had PHN (post herpetic neuralgia) pain following a severe bout of shingles 3 years’ ago. It is in the area of my RH rib cage front and back from my navel round to my spine and up my spine. I also have fractured vertebrae at T12 and L1 and have been diagnosed with osteoporosis. In the area of my waist on the RH side I feel as if everything is stuck together. It is a weird feeling and it also feels as if there is a thin sheet of something like supple plastic there. It is hard to describe. I have wondered if the stuck sensation is something to do with the fascia. I had about 12 sessions with a Structural Integration therapist last year who worked on the fascia but it didn’t help. More recently I have been reading a lot about neuroplastic pain and how to resolve this. IMO the best two books I have read are ‘The Way Out’ by Alan Gordon. curablehealth.com and the curable app. Also ‘The Pain Habit’ by Drew Coverdale the pain habit There is also ‘The Pain Management Workbook’ by Rachel Zoffness. Don’t know if it is going to make any difference but it is worth a try. I have tried just about every alternative and complementary therapy I can think of and nothing has made any difference so far. The only med I take is 30 mg Amatriptilyne prescribed for the pain. It does nothing for the pain but does help me to sleep which is a blessing so at least I can forget the pain for a few hours,
