Lyme Disease
Hello, I hope everyone is feeling as well as possible. Can I ask about links between Lyme Disease and RA? What is actually known? My daughter was talking about ticks the other day (we are both walkers) when I said I had had (in my late teens) a bullseye mark from a tick on my leg, she said ‘well that

Update on the AF journey…
Hi all, This isn’t so much a question but thought I’d post the ongoing journey…Be interested in what others think anyway. So AF started 22nd July ( or thereabouts). I started flecainide 50mg bd ( twice a day 😉) on 15th August and after 3 days on it on 18th I went back into sinus rhythm. Meantime

Persistant AF but the irregular irregular variety.
Diagnosed April 23 via ECG with persistant AF but not the high pulse rate variety most members seem to have. Mine is always irregular and my pulse constantly ranges between 60 and 90. Not particularly aware of it. Prescribed Nebivilol as beta blocker and Edoxoban as anti coagulant. Marginal Stage 1

Heartbeat post cardioversion
Had 2 cardioversions within 3 months of initial diagnosis of Afib back in November 2019. Fine until arrythmia returned early July this year. Initially told to stop my regular Bisoprolol 1.25mg per day until cardioversion which I had mid August. Back in nsr since then. After the latest cardioversion

Bisoprolol - dramatic change in hr.
hello. HR has been 120- 130 for a while now taking either 5mg or 7.5mg bisoprolol. The increase in dose to 7.5 mg maybe made an average 5bpm difference. At this point I was in Atrial flutter most of the time. Trying to bring my hr down , it was suggested to me that I increase to 10 mg and then possibly

I was recently diagnosed with afib and am taking Eliquis and propofenone. I am scheduled for a hip replacement in two weeks and am wondering if having afib makes the surgery more dangerous. Thanks for any advice or info.

sleep apnea and afib
According to monitoring with apple watch, my over night pulse rate often goes into the low 40s. In addition when I check in the morning I am often in afib. I have sleep apea and use a CPAP. Just wondering if anyone else has these low overnight pulse rates and any linkage to sleep apnea triggering afib

Slip Up!
After posting numerous comments on this forum discussing my success at avoiding Afib through controlling gas buildup, I feel that it is important to be candid about any setbacks. This past Saturday, I was awakened at 4:30 AM with Afib and remained in arrhythmia for 8 hours. I waited it out and have

Update - Bisoprolol to Diltiazem
Just to update from my previous post where I mentioned changing from Bisoprolol to Diltiazem. I had been on 1.25 mg Bisoprolol for about 5 months but hated the awful side effects (tiredness and shortness of breath) and found I was in AF most days, even tried Flecainide twice daily but that did nothing

Ablation
Here we go, I was expecting this when I saw my EP last night. Having breakthrough episodes of afib lasting over 30 hours whilst in Sotalol. My EP is not concerned about the frequency (paroxysmal afib) but the fact that they are lasting 30 hours plus he isn't happy with So, I was placed on his NHS waiting

Exercise or not
I felt afib or irregular heartbeat start at about 423 am today but I slept and woke about 630 am with af still there. I tried deep breathing but about 830 I took my pip, flecainide 50mg prescribed four and a half years ago by cardiologist. I saw him 6 months after I was diagnosed. My question is: is

When is a second ablation advisable?
I was dx with Paroxysmal Afib in 2018. After the usual regimen trials of just Metoprolol, Flecainide, Flecainide with Metoprolol for rate control, etc. I received a Cryoablation on March 16 of last year (2022). I had two afib episodes a month or so after the ablation which was explained as being in

Bisoprolol and low heart rate
As my heart palpitations were becoming unbearable, I finally agreed to try bisoprolol, just 1,25mg daily. Well, the good news is that the palpitations and the breathlessness have almost gone . The bad news is that my resting heart rate is down to 45 in the afternoon, going up to 58 when I'm active.
