What is the latest advice on taking Paxlovid for Covid if you are on an anticoagulant? Do you need to stop it or just be extra careful of bleeding or not take Paxlovid at all? I know you need to stop your statin drug while on it.

Paxlovid with Eliquis
I have not been advised by my EP or research that there's an adverse reaction to Paxlovid and Eliquis. However, there are severe reactions to antiarrythmics such as Tikosyn and others. etheral
Probably best to check it out. You did not mention what anti-coag you are on but most times with new meds its best to seek advice from the anti coag clinic or whoever is giving the Paxlovid. The thing is every one is different so it may or may not clash.

There does seem to be a major interaction between paxlovid and Apixaban/Eliquis, although you don't indicate which anticoagulant you are taking. Here's what drugs.com returned ...

I had Covid in May and was advised to lower the lose of my Eliquis while on Paxlovid. Best to always speak with your EP or cardio doctor. I was told this in the ER as well as by my pharmacist, so did check with my doctor as well. All the best to you!
My cardio doctor had given me the 2.5 dose of Eliquis, so I was fortunate to have those. I’m not sure if you can break the 5 dosage of Eliquis. If you don’t hear from your doctor soon, I would give them a call back just to be certain. Since I have paroxysmal afib and I hadn’t had an episode since January, and that was only a short run of under 10 minutes, I personally only took the 2.5 for 1 day and then didn’t take it for the duration of my Paxlovid, but don’t go by me, I was just nervous about the 2 drugs interacting. I made the mistake of consulting Dr. Google…not a good idea and wouldn’t do it again. Are you on Paxlovid now? The taste, for me, was absolutely terrible, like constantly having a mouthful of dirty coins in my mouth for 5 days. They need to work on that!
I have been exposed to Covid but haven’t gotten it (fingers crossed I don’t), but am assuming I will. My PCP prescribed Paxlovid to take as soon as I test positive but I think a call to my cardiologist if/ when I do is the best thing to do.
My brother in law and sister are both on Paxlovid now. My BIL says it feels if someone burned the inside of his mouth.
You may not even get Covid, but I understand your concerns. At least you will be armed with the information should you get it. Mine was discovered by accident, I was in the ER and they did a random Covid test that showed positive, so symptoms were very mild, like a sinus thing, head cold but not even a bad head cold. Sending lots of positive thoughts you are negative!
Oh sorry, I took the 2.5 dose twice a day for the 1 day.
