What's the Source of My Problem? Frustrated With Doctor's Response.
Hi all, Back in August I found out my B12 level was 267 and I was fortunate to be started on loading doses shortly thereafter. I am finally starting to feel better and have two weekly loading doses left (I live in the U.S., so it works a little differently here). I've been pushing my doctor to discover

No positive test for APS
HI All I am still wondering if I do have APS or not. I am just so sick and in pain all the time, so want a diagnosis so I can get effective treatment. My doctor originally diagnosed me on my symptoms and blood test results. He did not test for APS but the results showed I did have an auto-immune condition

Do I need B12 injections or are sublingual lozenges enough?
Hi, I'm new here. I saw a news report recently about PA patients supplementing their NHS injections with stuff bought off the internet. When the interviewee listed her symptoms, it was like someone listing everything I had been to see my doctor about in the last few years. Looking at the PAS website

Help with blood results
Hello So I went for my full blood count including folate b12 and intrinsic factor ( I can't see that on there)?? Same as before " no further action " The folate range was different in the private test I did , is 9.1 good?? Obviously the b12 is low and my thyroid values have changed for the worse too,

Which container for a blood test?
Hey guys, so I'm trying to order a private blood test from blue horizon for the intrinsic factor and I'm a little confused. It may sound like the silliest question but seeing as I'm about to fork out £129 I think i will take the risk and look stupid 🙄 There are 4 options and I'm not sure which 1 to

Some help needed please.
I have been posting on the thyroid thread but it has been suggested that I post here. I paid for a private blood test from Blue Horizon and it showed the following:- This is a hyperthyroid result (overactive thyroid gland). The high free thyroxine level suggests that there is some issue with your thyroid

The pains back ☹️
Hi all, So I took the b12 injection last sat and have felt so much better all week. I was waiting for it to clear from my blood so I can book the private blood test this week for the intrinsic factor. Trouble is the pains back today :( Exactly 7.5 days later and my neck and shoulders are in agony. I'm

An update.. Kinda scared.
Well I saw my GI doctor today and I'm pretty nervous. I got my lab results back today and some things seem worse. About 2 weeks ago I posted about my high serum gastrin results, which were pretty high at 1847. I did research after the fact and found out it was supposed to be a fasting test (thank god

Celiac screening
Looking at celiac.org, they say NICE has advised that those with autoimmune thyroiditis should be offered celiac test on diagnosis ... is this happening? Didn't happen to me. Very sensible though, and I think we should even more be screened for autoimmune gastritis, with the gp asking if we Are taking

Do parietal antibodies come and go?
I know the intrinsic factor test only comes back positive half the time in AIG, is it the experience of members that the parietal antibody test result can come and go too? I tested myself some years ago and was negative, I didn't test intrinsic factor ... does that result rule AIG out for me?

How do I get to see an expert?
I am so frustrated by NHS doctors that I may never go back. I have just been told that if I had pernicious amaemia the intrinsic factor anti body test would be positive. I pointed out that 50% of people with it dont have a positive test and I was told that the test is 100% effective and negative means

Results for daughter, advice needed
My daughter is 21, exhausted, cold, thin, clearly sick, exercises, healthy lifestyle, no drink or drugs. I have Hashis, so I Blue Horizoned her. A few years ago her TSH was 2, now it is 3.02, so it is now failing, though there are not yet enough antibodies for Hashis they are rising. No inflammation
