Intrinsic Factor Ant Test
Hi again I've been chasing up the result of an IFA test taken in early December. The GP has replied to say she has now chased this with the lab herself and this was the reply . "The lab said the intrinsic factor could not be tested as the B12 level was too high which interferes with the test. The

Why is this? Sleep related.
Since starting my three loading doses in September my biggest problem has been insomnia and it has been a real struggle. I'm now waiting for the three monthly maintenance dose at the end of January and in sheer desperation I started taking oral B 12 supplements ten days ago. To my astonishment my

Managing endo pain
Hi ☺️ Just wondering if anyone has found a miracle cure for managing endometriosis pain whilst on period 🙏 I get weekly acupuncture, use castor oil packs, take my pain killers days before period is due but nothing seems to be helping manage the pain 😥. Contraception isn't an option at the moment,

Treatment for dry, peeling lips
What do you use for Sjogrens dry, peeling lips? I have had lupus for 30 years, and a variety of dry eye and salivary gland issues, that have at times been severe. Been treated for both. Also have dry sinus, and sleep apnea. Even if I use items to prevent mouth breathing during sleeps, lips still

B12 deficiency light
Hi all. I have had pernicious anaemia for many years and like many people here, I have struggled with the frequency of injections. To begin with 12 weeks seemed OK, but over the years this was failing to last. My GP put it down to 10 weeks which helped but I was still struggling towards the end so I

Intrinsic factor test
Hey guys, I am getting the intrinsic factor test tomorrow which my doctor highlighted as an unreliable test but managed to convince him to let me have it regardless ! Anyway, I have taken a single b12 supplement yesterday evening. This is probably a dumb question, but will this impact the test? Thank

When I have discussions with people about p.a I know to tell them I have b12 deficiency and I know to say I have no intrinsic factor so my body can’t make the b12 I need then I usually get asked why’s that or how does that work and I really struggle to answer,I’m not completely thick I just don’t feel

Just wondering if this process sounds familiar?
Hi, Just wondering if this process sounds familiar and how did you cope with it? GP made erroneous diagnoses several times, I kept being sent away: it took 6 months before RA was suspected, despite worsening symmetrical pain in both feet across the toe joints, dry eyes, fatigue, massive swelling in

How long before symptoms return
My dr has stopped my B12 shots because the intrinsic factor test came back negative, even tho it was positive in 2012 which led to me being diagnosed with PA. After 8 yrs he has stopped my shots and told me he will retest me in 6 months, which will actually be 9 mths from my last shot. Its now 5 mths

B12 supplements with intrinsic factor
Has anyone tried b12 supplements with intrinsic factor ? I’m wondering if supplementing with intrinsic factor would help reduce excess methylmalonic acid or if someone with intrinsic factor antibodies would have no benefit . I have just started injecting b12 after 2 years of trying to get gp’s to find

Hello long time no post!
Hello I first posted a few years back and with your help came to the conclusion that I was low in b12. Things Have moved on! But for context I continued to query my b12 with doctors, to no avail. I feel pregnant Oct 2018, again asked for my b12 to checked early in my pregnancy. It was ‘normal’

Diagnosed with low b12(130) had loading injections, not heard from gp since. I don’t think anything has come up in those investigations so am left with

BAT, dutasteride, and my search for truth, Part 2 of 2
I believe it was Patrick who said “When 5alpha-reductase acts on T to produce DHT, this kicks off production of an enzyme to clear DHT from the cell. DHT has a very narrow window in which to promote growth. One of the metabolites of DHT is an estrogen - 3beta-adiol - which happens to be the natural

I’m not getting better :( advice??
Hi, New here.. Hoping to get some info on how long after loading doses before I should start to feel better I’m 23 years old and have always been very active (running, at the gym all the time). For the last few years I would say I’ve had a generalised level of fatigue (often having naps), but nothing

Feels like I’m on life’s roundabout again.
I’ve been plodding away in the background trying my best to get answers without going down too many invasive routes as it terrorises me.Everything bad for me started with a severe head jury after one of my many falls and sheer neglect with my injuries and no Investgations as to why it had happened in

Haptocorrin and B12 Absorption
I've pasted below an excerpt from a paper which described how low vitamin D levels can cause insomnia. It also discussed why low vitamin D can lead to B12 deficiency. During my many, many hours of online research I've never read anything about this, has anyone else? Why vitamin D deficiency can lead
