Can I have sex before a laparoscopy

Hi, I am having my laparoscopy on Tuesday and was wondering if anyone knew about being able to have sex before surgery? Is there a certain amount of time before that I should stop?

Any answers for this would be amazing.

I left about 2 days before the op, mainly because they were also having a look at my cervix and things so I didn’t want any inflammation as I sometimes bleed after sex.

I was told no sex for 5 days before my last lap, but I think it varies depending on the complexity of your surgery, your symptoms and from surgeon to surgeon. You can be pretty sure if they thought having sex posed a risk, you would have been told specifically to avoid it, so I wouldn’t worry too much.
