Need surgery

Hi I'm not new here but I thought I'd take a shot in the dark and explain the predicament that I am in. I have a prolapsed stoma which is 4 inches long and 55mm in diameter I've also herniated my bowel with it being 10cm in length. I also have 1 metre of small bowel left so not really much at all when you consider we are born with 7 metres. Right my problem being I need two surgeries one to reverse the stoma with a temporary mesh for my hernia and then a further one down the line to rebuild my bowel wall I also have some activity of chrons and a small narrowing there. The main problem is I'm 52 and 18 stone so the surgeon won't touch me until I've lost 5 stone and stopped smoking I can't exercise until I get my support wear for my hernia so I really need advice on weight loss tips and tricks so I can shift this 5 stone which is a tall order I'm also on hrt and massive amounts of immodium and codeine for stoma output. I did really cut back on what I was eating but I kept falling because of output and meds combined. I would really appreciate some kind of input if anybody has experienced my small bowel issue with needing to lose weight safely. Please help🫠🫠

Hi Joey

I’m so sorry to hear what you’re going through- it sounds overwhelming. I just wondered if you are having any therapy or group support for all your complex issues - including managing your eating? I feel one to one or group support could help you get yourself in a position for surgery and reassure you that others understand and struggle similarly. Good wishes - I hope you find some help.
