my husband had three years of adt plus 45 rounds of radiation. One lymph node Was involved so he was considered stage iii at dx. His psa went from 49 to >.04 In the first three months and never went up. He now has NED and will be checked every three months. Problem is, after coming off three years of ten mg prednisone his bones are killing him. DEX scan was normal. Anyone else experience this?

bone pain after ADT
Yes. He was on an abiraterone daily, Lutron monthly and 5 mg prednisone twice a day. he weaned off the prednisone for about a month. Right after he weaned off came the severe bone pain. Seeing a rheumatologist now. Started out with his prostate doctor who recommended he go to his gp. Went to gp, who recommended the rheumatologist. Rheumatoid arthritis has been ruled out but no other diagnosis given. He had an X-ray of his hip, etc. and some pt for that, but he has shoulder pain, hip pain and hand pain also. Pretty much pain in many bones and joints.
The bone pain is from inflammation and arthritis that was being suppressed by prednisone. Talk to an orthopedist.
I support with proteolytic enzymes every day as well as herbal anti-inflams with meals, does help, also trace minerals
