Alverine and/or Simalvia - (which is alverine citrate with simethicone.) Side effects.
I have recently been put on these. I have found that both the standard alverine citrate, which I had tried first, now the Simalvia, cause feelings of extreme anxiety about an hour after taking the tablet! Weird and not listed in the side effects. So far it seems ineffective on the pain anyway. Would

Constipation after chemo
Can anyone please advise how they dealt with the constipation. My first chemo last week and I can honestly say I have never experienced anything like it! I ended up in hospital with faecal impaction. Ended up having an enema! Nurse called it a poobabie! Any advice would be very much appreciated xxx

Possible early stages of lupus?
I started having joint pain a few months ago, mostly hands and feet, together with a little tingling in both. I also started to have hot flushes (not menopause-related; already diagnosed with premature menopause and taking oestrogen). The GP ordered a bunch of blood tests in April and decided that being

Precancerous polyps removed, new symptoms 8 years later
So 8 years ago I had a colonoscopy due to severe constipation, a backup in my bowels, mucus and slight bleeding. They removed seven polyps, four of which were pre-cancerous, the largest polyp being 7 mm. They told me to be checked again in 4 years which I was, and it came back clear. Lately, I'd say

Any advice for gastro symptoms which respond to steroids, but no diagnosis? Does normal colonoscopy cover the small bowel?
hi all, I hope it's ok to post here - I don't have a diagnosis of crohn's or colitis but am looking for information. I'm diagnosed coeliac (6+ years ago) and autoimmune hypothyroid, with ongoing and increasing gastro symptoms - the main problem being that I feel extremely unwell like I've got flu

Scared of the Future.....
My husband (42M) has been having the feeling of needing to use the bathroom 7-10 times a day, and it always comes out as gas or diarrhea, loose watery stools. I had him to our primary doctor and get some tests run. All of his bloodwork has come back ok, his platelets are a little high, but his iFOBT

I am currently on LHRH hormone therapy in preparation for radiotherapy followed by HDR brachytherapy for my locally advanced PCa, T3a Gleason 8, no visible mets fortunately. I have been suffering from quite unpleasant hot flushes which have shown no signs of going away. I discussed this with my consultant

So a shock diagnosis of colon cancer last year, surgery and chemo and I'm now doing c25k for a second time hoping that exercise can have some beneficial effect in keeping me healthy. Anyone else in this situation?

Colonoscopy polyp worries
Hiya there, 34yo male here who had a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago after having abdominal and back pain, constipation on and off since June. I had a positive FIT test which my doctor believes to be because I have an anal fissure and I have rectal bleeding. The colonoscopy was clear apart from a 4mm sessile
