Recently diagnosed with Low B12 / Folic acid levels
Hello Everyone, I would just like to post my story on here and get some advice from like-minded people with more knowledge than myself. For some context on myself, I am a 23 year old Male from the UK. Around three weeks ago, I was diagnosed with low b12 and folic acid levels, this was off the back

hydroxycobalamin and light exposure
Hello all, I am careful to store my hydroxy ampoules in a dark, temperature controlled place. How critical is it that the serum is temporarily exposed to light while drawing it up and injecting? My husband helps me but he thinks I worry too much about what is a couple of minutes of exposure to light

Preparing for antibodies test
Good morning, my GP has approved an antibodies test and a full blood count (the only 2 things that were missing from my last test on 3rd October). I’ve never had an antibody test before Am I okay taking b12 & b complex prior to both these tests or should I refrain until after? And should I

Blood test results advice
Hi I have untreated hypothyroidism/hashimoto's (with a goiter) and am feeling absolutely awful. I am tingling all over, am breathless sometimes, have hair loss, palpitations aching joints, and am very very tired. Also, I keep getting hot/sweating, which I understand isn't typical with Hypo symptoms

Adjusting to new thyroxine dosage
Please could someone help as have recently had my dosage of thyroxine increased after blood tests indicated that it needed to be done. I also managed to have my brand changed back to Goldshield recently. Have been feeling like hell for some time so eventually my GP agreed to have bloods done, thus

Finally had BMB. Now diagnosed with MF, should I go on a trial and other questions!
My only symptom is fatigue due to the
anaemia
, which seems to be improving, not had any Pegasys injections for four weeks. Spleen normal. Other than that I’ve never had any symptoms, so I’m well puzzled.

is there a good time of day to take your b12 shot
So we have been given permission to do B12 shots at home combined with 200 mg ferrous sulphate and 20,000 of Vit D by our GP who will be doing further diagnostics in the mean time...the one thing I forgot to ask him is if there is a good time of day to take the B12 shots...morning, before bed, before

B12 ferritin connection??
I finally had my hematologist appt and was pleasantly surprised by how knowledgeable she was! She is very very concerned about my ferritin level, which was 11 when I went in and after she checked it is now 9. She is sending me to an allergist to try to desensitize me to b12 shots (and find out what

Shout at the Moon
Today I visited my GP to try to get an iron infusion, following a reading of ferritin level of 58. He said it was a bit low. I reminded him of the research I had shown him last time, which states that levels should be over 100 in RLS patients. Sadly he hadn't read it, wanted to be helpful, but just

Vertigo as a side effect of B12 injection?
Hello all, I have “spells” of vertigo which I usually chalk up to sinus congestion or chronic ear problems. I injected 2 days ago, not having had any vertigo prior for a few months. The vertigo started within 12 hours of the hydroxy injection and is quite severe now 48 hours later. Could this be a side

I stopped taking the prescribed daily dose of Ferrous Sulfate 325 mg 48 hours before getting the Iron lab test. Also, fasted before test and had done 1st thing in the morning

What is the relationship between COPD and anaemia?
First of all, I have
anaemia
which I had assumed was the result of my restrictive diet. However, I take an iron pill daily and I have stepped up on more iron rich food, but iron levels are still low. I was wondering if whatever is causing the hyperinflated lungs may be causing the

Just been approved for Vitamin B12 injection treatment.
hello everyone this is my first post. I have been experiencing many of the symptoms of functional b12 deficiency/pernicious anemia for close to 7 years. My doctor was reluctant for whatever reason to authorize the injections, even though I had a positive parietal cell antibody test. I guess my question
