Adjusting to new thyroxine dosage

Please could someone help as have recently had my dosage of thyroxine increased after blood tests indicated that it needed to be done. I also managed to have my brand changed back to Goldshield recently. Have been feeling like hell for some time so eventually my GP agreed to have bloods done, thus the results and changes. Have been on the new amount since May and not feeling so bad or cold plus the brain fog isn't as bad. Was hoping that things would be a lot better by now though 😕 The weight gain is a big problem too as I have GIT problems and take both Omeprazole and Famotidine (2 hour windows observed). Surely things should be a lot better by now? Have an appointment on 15th so will ask him re this too. Thank you for any help advice, etc as would be appreciated 🙏

No results attached

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking

Was test done early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

You need TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested

Seeing my Dr on the 15th so hopefully will get bloods done again as have been on this dose only since May. At the moment I take 100mcg during the week then 150mcg on weekends. The test was done late afternoon with 100mcg taken early morning. Taking Krill Oil and Vit B supplements. Usually take Selenium but not recently. Free T4: 21 range 10 - 24 TSH: 6.1 range 0.40 - 4.00 Free T3: 3.4 range 2.5 - 6 . Hope this helps and thank you

Free T4: 21 range 10 - 24

TSH: 6.1 range 0.40 - 4.00

Free T3: 3.4 range 2.5 - 6 .

Are these recent results

Ft4 falsely high as last dose levothyroxine should be 24 hours before test

TSH falsely low as TSH has diurnal rhythm and is highest early morning

ALWAYS test thyroid levels early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking

Was dose increased after this test result?

Or are you waiting to see Dr to get dose increase after these results

Essential to test vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin

Approx how much do you weigh in kilo

Guidelines on dose levothyroxine by weight is approx 1.6mcg per kilo of your weight per day

The weight gain is a big problem too as I have GIT problems and take both Omeprazole and Famotidine (2 hour windows observed).

Both Omeprazone and Famotidine lower stomach acid. They should both be taken at least 4 hours way from your thyroxine as they will interfere with it's absorption. You may need to increase your dose of thyroxine to compensate.

Thank you and sorry that you are having to deal with this too. At the moment I'm taking Famotidine 2 hours after my Throxine then 12 hours later with the Omeprazole in the middle. Looks like I need to change this then but don't think my Dr is going to be very receptive re increasing the Thyroxine unfortunately 😕 😔

I'm not dealing with it. The quote in bold is from your post and my reply is specific to that part of your post :)
