B12 deficiency and gastrointestinal (GI) upset
Many people with B12 deficiency mention gastrointestinal (GI) upset. Update
There was no mention of B12 supplement but I will ask about pernicious
anaemia
next week. Please can I ask if I should start with a B12 supplement or B complex now or wait. Below is a link to my previous post and also my Medicheck results.

Update for my daughter re loading injections. and the rest.
My daughter has her appt with GP yesterday - she's 19 and although I was planning to go, had to agree when she said she wanted to do it on her own. Which I regretted! Here is the earlier thread which contains her results etc.: https://healthunlocked.com/pasoc/posts/149760385/daughter-starting-b12-

Next steps/where to get active b12 test?
Quick background: B12 deficiency (152) in 2017, negative IFAB, received 2x 3 monthly injections then taken off them. Investigating various symptoms now, recent bloods show drop in B12 from December 2022 (455) to now (206). Doctor saying I just need to take a multivitamin with B12 in, but I am not convinced

Autoimmune gastritis
"For several years, most studies have focused on pernicious

Atrophic Gastritis
Hi everyone, I have deen trying slippery elm to no avail for general stomach discomfort. I sometimes feel as if I have a 'fist' moving around in my stomach. The 'fist'feeling then just stays perfectly still, I then feel like I need to stretch to accomodate the 'fist' and then it feels a little better

B12D bloods show positive TPOAb
Hi Guys A few weeks ago, I posted concern over hubby's bloods when GP said all was fine. To cut a long, and sadly not unfamiliar story to you short, I managed to get him to see a private consultant who identified at least 3 other long term health niggles associated with B12D. Hubby is now on SI treatment

Vitamin Levels Tested- advice please.
Hi there,I recently had my vitamin levels taken, as despite taking levothyroxine and T3 I am still feeling extremely tired, have hair loss, weight gain and lack of concentration. I wondered if it might be my vitamins. The results were: B12 & Folate Serum vitamin B12: 932 ng/L (180- 770) Serum folate

If your doctor worries that too much B12 is toxic, show them this study on ALS & B12
ALS is the same as Lou Gehrig's disease, and is also what Stephen Hawking had. It is a neurodegenerative disease, thought to mostly affect the motor neurons. Ryosuke Oki, et al, "Efficacy and Safety of Ultrahigh-Dose Methylcobalamin in Early-Stage Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis" JAMA Neurol. 2022;

Not anemia? Lab results question.
It's been a couple months since my last iron infusion. Last week, I had labs drawn, and results included: [H] WBC (18.1), RDW (16.4), Platelets (614), Creatinine (1.04); [L] MCH (24.1), MCHC (30.5), Iron (22); [LL] Iron Saturation (7). Hemoglobin was just within normal range at 11.2, and

blood results and one mthfr variant - help please 🙏
Hi I have been trying to get my head around all of this and I find it very confusing. Can anyone give their honest opinion on my vitamin levels. I am about to start b12 injections and believe because I carry one mthfr variant I need to take methyl folate. I really struggle with vitamin d also.

B12 deficiency, macrocytosis, and potassium drop
I have macrocytic anemia. My MCV for the past 7 years has hovered around 100. I had one good result of 93 and that was 3 months after getting loading shots of Cyanocobalamin when I was first diagnosed with B12 deficiency over a year ago. My doctor stopped my shots after that and I took only sublingual
