I’m on Sulfasalazine 1g daily this has happened about 6 times over last 5 years .
Also I sometimes have anaemia flagged up after blood tests.

I think you’ve posted in the right place 😊 I think it’s quite common to get the odd blood test result that is out of range but stopping meds like you’ve been told has worked for me. Just keep an eye on things and flag it up if you’re concerned.
My neutrophils are always about 1.8 and recently went down to 1.2 and was just warned I might have to stop meds but continue for the moment. What type of anaemia have you. I have anaemia of chronic inflammation and have had for a few years - no treatment. Not sure if that helps you but type of anaemia matters.
I have access to my test results online, and usually the doctor puts a comment on the results and says what type of anaemia it is and what needs to be done. If you don't have online access I think you can get it through the NHS app but I emailed my surgery to ask for access to my records and they gave me a username and password. I track al my results as I am not sure that anyone else does.
Do you track your blood work numbers so that you see any trends? I graph mine to look at any anomalies i.e. when I have vaccines, colds, etc. My neutrophils and WBC count will usually go up in those cases. My normal for neutrophils is 1.4 but it's always been low even before I started with RA.
I am on Sulphasalazine too, my neutrophils are always low. Was told that not to worry unless they go down to 1 or under? Although I do not suffer with anemia 🥰
Hi Dancing69, I’ve had to pause leflunomide initially for 2 weeks my neutrophils have dropped to 0.89 my next blood test was 0.84 😳 I’ve been on imarldi for 10 weeks and isn’t thought to affect bloods, luckily it’s working and haven’t gone into a flair, my next rheumatology appointment is in 5 weeks, hopefully I can restart leflunomide, just keep a good hygiene routine and avoid anyone who’s unwell, I do have anaemia but my blood test was a normal 4.58 for RBS and my white cell count is low 2.78, just try and eat healthy lots of veg and hopefully yours and mine will recover, I’ve just looked at my blood test for October when they halved my dose, it was 1.70 then, I have a feeling, although it’s been good for my joints I don’t think I’ll be going back on the leflunomide anytime soon. Good luck and hopefully yours will recover soon, all the best Jen.
