I am so glad I am not the only one I was recently changed to a different surgery in our old surgery I was having vit b12 injections for at least 10 yrs my mother had pernicious anaemia and died at the age of 52 but she refused her injections I was diagnosed as probable pernicious anaemia as there's a history in the family recently in the new surgery I went over there last week for my injection to be told the nurse said I don't do b12 injections I'm a qualified nurse myself and have never heard of a qualified nurse not doing s/c injection different if it was i/v so I came from there feeling really tired and washed out to come home half way in a taxi to go back over there to see the Dr firstly he asked what was I there for he went to look for an ampoule to be told there wasn't any in stock I was tamping mad as I felt really unwell and didn't feel like going over there but my blood pressure was low as well if any one can tell me why nurses aren't doing s/c injections I would love to know I've been persistent and having one done tomorrow

Ask for a prescription to self inject.

Currently what I have.

I do go for s nurse of HCA to do a IM one 6 weekly.

District nurses never do them its the HCAs for my 95 year old mum at home.

I think that B12 ampoules are not licenced for sub cutaneous injections in UK.

(I'm assuming you're in UK).

Yes nurses will not do subcutaneous B12 unless specifically asked by G.p Nog sure if willing then.

They have PDF on place to inject IM too.
