Seeing doctor today- advice needed
Hi I am seeing the most senior doctor today in my practice and would love some advice. I was diagnosed with hypothoridism after a private blood test I took to my doctor. The doctor was nice and gave me a trial of levo. I moved up to 75mg after six weeks but did not really feel better in reality I

Thyroid Hormone Resistance _ correlation between B1/mitochondria?
It is likely that I have resistance to thyroid hormone. I am now on 135 mcg T3 as a divided dose and feel no difference at all compared to how I felt taking nothing. I have also been diagnosed with a mitochondrial defect which I feel is secondary to the thyroid hormone resistance. I am wondering if anyone

Thyroid Summit - another great video particularly about fibromyalgia and thyroid gland connection.
This is by Dr Teitelbuam who himself suffered problems as a student, and was homeless, finally got himself well. Again about 1 hr long mainly about recovering from fibromyalgia and main symptoms particularly if we have insomnia This is a comment from a person who listened;- Wow! I've had fibromyalgia

Urgent Cipro Question :-/
Hi, I am not sure whether this is the right place to ask so I apologise if not. I have been having a lot of flank pain recently (right side, waist height and below) and assumed it was another kidney stone. I have tried to drink more water to "flush" the kidney (not an excessive amount) but ended up

Hi again, our doctor advised us that in the face of PBC diagnosis it would be good to have Hepatitis B Vaccination.
Even it's a small chance to catch the HBV he says as an add-on to PBC things would be much worse. Has anyone got also similiar advise from consultant? Is there any risk to have in a vaccination? (they are dead viruses not) We've just found out that my wife has antibody for Hepatitis A, so no need for

This is a study on the importance of folic acid and the B vitamins in general in relation to Parkinson's which you might find interesting if you have not already seen it. Cheers

Bananas
A professor at CCNY for a physiological psych class told his class about bananas. He said the expression 'going bananas' is from the effects of bananas on the brain. Read on: Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!! This is interesting. After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the

New to the site. Trying to tie down symptoms, also does anyone have Myrios discount code?
Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've been wanting to do a 'checkup' on my vitamins, minerals and the such like for a while, but after finding some of the information on this site, it's made me try to get something done. I'm unsure if I have an under active thyroid as I have some of the symptoms, but it could

Advice please: what do I do next?
I've been on the TUK boards for a while but am new here. I'm hypothyroid on t3 and t4. I responded very well to t3 for about six months but now I'm back to how I felt on t4 alone. My thyroid test results look good but I feel like a wet noodle and I realised that I have some other PA symptoms (numb

Anybody has successfully tried B vitamins and Alpha Lipoic Acid to reduce nerve pain?
I am a diabetic. I have a tight sock syndrome first starting on one foot but now affecting the other. I also have lower spine degeneration causing relentless back pain, sciatica and nerve pain on buttocks. There is a preparation advertised on-line called Neuropathy Support Formula, http://neuropathytreatmentgroup.com

B12 Deficiency getting worse with supplementation?
I have been supplementing with Jarrows B12 sublingual for over 16months now. In addition I use a good quality Vitamin B complex with folate. I decided on this route because I had many of the features and signs of B12 Deficiency as described on Dr Chaudry's website. After 6 weeks of taking B12 at 1000mcg

VITAMIN B12 DEFICIENCY
Five months ago "Hamster" very kindly replied to my post regarding how devastated I was regarding "Hair Loss". It was suggested at the time that I could have a mal-absorption problem caused by radical surgery for duodenal ulcers in the 70's. I didn't make an appointment with the GP straight away

So what about seronegative APS?
Hi. Reading the forum I'm not sure, yet, what to think about the so called seronegative APS. I'm seroenegative but I have symptoms. I'm on warfarin for life. I'm not going to give up warfarin never. I have doubts. Do we have to be cautious with infections?. Are infections the trigger for this disease
