It’s been over a month now but I feel as though I still haven’t recovered. Weight gain and severe cellulite
I got diagnosed with pbc two years ago and have been taking urso for about 8 months. I have now gained a stone in weight even though I don't over eat and have severe cellulite on the backs of my legs and some on my arms. I'm 36 and it really distresses me that I have this on top of everything else! Does

I have come up with a TSH reading of 10.48. Is it a case of Hypothyroidism, although I have none of the symptoms?
Just to emphasise a bit more about myself, the tests were done as a part of the routine check up by my cardiologist. I have had a RBBB for the last 8-10 years and I never had any other troubles ever. Although the last ECG pointed out normal sinus rhythm and left axis deviation with RBBB. Is that a bit

Doublebase Gel
Hi all, having read about Doublebase Gel on here I thought I'd give it a go. Got from Amazon (must find out what it costs from Boots) and it is brilliant. I swear my tiny wrists have plumped out a wee bit, I need my watch on a one-hole looser setting now. Also have tried it (one for the ladies) not

Facial hair (hirsutism) and skin problems
Has anyone out there (women) experienced acne type spots all over the body and/or hirsutism? I have been fobbed off for years about both of these but am currently waiting for a fresh appt. with a good endocrinologist who I hope will look into things further. I had a total thyroidectomy 10 years

Doctor appointment
Hi everyone I was just wondering what everyone view's was on prescriptions. All my life I have suffered with Netherton's Sydrome, I use to take so many prescriptions when I was younger nothing ever worked. I stopped using them a long time ago and just went to lotion 24/7 but now I am getting kinda sick

Does anyone have Seborrheic Dermatitis or Dandruff?
I am just a lay person researching some causes of Parkinson's which I have. Although not a root cause, I am interested if PwP has the symptom of Seborrheic Dermatitis (oily skin, red rash) and/ or Dandruff, especially in the eyebrows, around the side of nostrils and at the back of the ears. I need

What tests should I ask for?
So after not feeling at all well on 25mcg thyroxine I didn't take any more because of Xmas period (we had visitors for nearly a week!) I now have an appointment with my 'sympathetic GP' Friday to discuss medication. Should I have some tests I have never had like lots of people are suggesting just in

My itchy scalp is driving me crazy! Have been gluten-free since October and have only just switched shampoo. How long before things improve?
There is nothing visible on my scalp, but I can feel little bumps that the doctor thinks are dermatitis herpetiformis (I also get them on my hands, wrists and legs, although these areas have already cleared up on the gluten-free diet). I know I probably need to be more patient, but the itching is so

Can anyone recommend a gluten-free shampoo? What gluten-free beauty brands work for you?
Have decided to take the extra step of removing gluten from the toiletries I use, as it seems logical to me to do so, even if opinion is currently divided on this issue. I am particularly keen to source a gluten-free shampoo and conditioner, as one problem that has yet to respond to my gluten-free diet

Hair on legs not growing any more - is this a common feature of hypo?
I am hypo. TSH 0.05 now and FT3 in the top 1/3 of range. The hairs on my legs and armpits have started to grow only very very slowly. I know if I go to the GP about this he will basically laugh in my face. This is one symptom that has recently occurred that was normal. I had all the other usual symptoms

Fobroscan and AIH
Does anyone know if fibroscan can replace biopsy in the diagnosis of AIH. I had a biopsy years ago when PBC was first diagnosed but the ?AIH is a recent development.

Carbo with gemcitabine
Hello fellow supporters. First of all best wishes for a 2013 with good results, long remissions and more successful clinical trials! Second a question: has anybody tried carboplatin with gemcitabine? What has your experience been? Positive, negative? Did it work? Any stories of remission? Thank you

Slimming World
Hi has anyone had any success with weight loss by following the slimming world diet. I am considering joining tomorrow but am a little daunted due to the fact I take steroids, urso and mercaptopurine for AIH/PBC overlap. I am concerned that the diet will not work because of the medication. I have tried

My INR result is reducing
I have been taking Warfarin for 11 weeks following a Pulmonary Embolism. My INR once in range was stable ( therapeutic range of 2.5-3.5), but it is dropping 2.0, 1.9 and now 1.8. My Warfarin has been increased, but I am finding this result quite strange. I am feeling well and the only thing different

Success I've had a baby after heparin therapy
Hi all I had my baby girl on 28th oct 2012 at 10:5pm weighing 4lb 7oz a quick induced labour at 34 weeks as despite being on aspirin and heparin the blood flow to baby was poor. But I had a good labour and I'm home finally after being in hospital for several weeks so my little family is complete for

How do I cope?
My poor beautiful father, he was begging for
air
but it wouldn't work because of the pulmonary
embolism
blocking his vein. Words can't describe my devastation and the devastation felt by everyone who knew him. I just love him so much.

Haematologists knowledgeable about APS in Ireland (Dublin/Louth/Meath region)?
I've found the information on this forum extremely helpful and am wondering if there are any forum members from Ireland who could let me know how/who helped them get a diagnosis in Ireland. I'm 43 years old and had a bilateral pulmonary embolism completely out of the blue on July 31 this year (no
