I have dropped more than 40 lbs - almost 25% of what I had weighed when my PD motor symptoms started up three years ago. It just happened. I wasn't trying to downsize. At first, not having bingo arms seemed like a Parkie perk - but the loss of the last 10 pounds in recent months has me and some around

Radiofrequency denervation info, please
Hi everyone. I'm hoping to locate someone who has had a radiofrequency denervation procedure to the spine. Was it successful in relieving pain and what effects did it have on you with loss of sensation etc? Was it a good move to have it done or do you regret it? If anyone can help I'll be very grateful

14 days later....
OK, a brief update, 14 days after cryo ablation. The first three days were wonderful, full colour back, no pain, no naughty heart. Then I started to get a tickly cough, daily migraines (aura, very occasional headache) and a heavy feeling in my chest (discomfort, not pain). I've started to walk a bit

To My Fellow Americans
I'm currently looking at all types of dialysis so that when I have to choose one I can make an intelligent, informed choice. The article below was sent to me yesterday and if you are or believe you may have to be on dialysis this seems to be mandatory, required reading. I copied this post from the e-mail

Elevated ALP and GGT, liver lesions and fatty liver
Hi all, a routine blood test showed prolonged period of elevated Alp and ggt. Due to some other issues the dr ordered a scan which showed multiple liver lesions and a cyst. They have now booked me in for an MRI, just wondering if anyone out there has had anything similar. Thanks

Lupus and cataract surgery
My brother has been suffering from systemic lupus for 12 years. He developed aggressive cataracts this past summer and had both eyes operated on in August (2 weeks apart). He is now having major inflammation along with eye tissue that is not healing because of poor blood flow. His lupus doctor has advised

First suspicions of having cirrohsis
Four weeks ago my 44 year old Son was told by his GP that he had perhaps 12 months to live due to liver disease, suspected cirrhosis. Although he has in the past consumed much alcohol he was being treated for mental illness for over 12 months with all blood tests etc not showing signs of the disease.

Scheduling cataract surgery while on high dosage of prednisone
Greetings to all of you. This has been a very stressful few months. I had a GCA flare up while having a mini reunion with 4 dear high school friends in July. I had to increase my Prednisone from 11 to 40mg. Then my precious 99+year old mom died in early August. I was blessed to be with her when she died

To PMRPro or anyone knows my crazy history feel free to pop in
we all know I move back to the north east to go to a real pro rheumatologist. He proceeded to reduce me so quickly I had a third relapse at 12mg. It made me sicker than I have ever been in my entire life. My CRP went to 33 and my ESR went to 42. I upped my dose to 20 mg from 10 and my CRP went down

Cataracts: Two eyes at the same time?
Please forgive me taking up time on the Macular site, but I don't know where else to go for advice and I'm thinking most of us will have had cataracts removed. Worried on bloods
Hi guys, I am a little concerned on my liver function test. I had bloods done in 2013 and the Alt was 35 and now it is 51, my ggt now is 66 and both should be 45, I have drank quiet heavily for about 5 years. Carton of beer and a bootle of bourbon a week. The doctor didn't seem concerned and booked more

Where from here PRO
As You always said the more you relapse the harder to get back. So my NYC rheumy reduced so quickly that I relapsed and became very, very ill. He ignored the high CRP and the ESR was low and didn't think hm....something is wrong with this blood work. The lab screwed up, but he kept reducing. Never been

Reassurance
Hi All This is my first post, just like to say thanks for the comments so far - it's really reassuring to know that what you are feeling is not unique! I had a really bad case of AF three years ago, was hospitalised for 6 days to sort it out, and have had reasonably frequent episodes of AF since then
