Are you also taking lactulose and going to the toilet regularly? (3-4 partially formed stools per day). Rifaximin combined with lactulose is the recommended treatment.

We also had one lady on here whose husband saw a significant improvement in HE symptoms after starting to eat a vegetarian diet - it seems that too much red meat can lead to increased ammonia levels.

Hi

Im getting slightly worried because my mind seems to go blank so many times. I have Nash with some fibrosis and also fibromyalgia. I just seem to be feeling worse all the time. Liver nurse has brought forward my consultant appointment from January to October 17th which is great. You all please take care. Lots of love Lynne xxxx

Brain fog as it's known can be a symptom of fibromyalgia so this might not be to do with your liver.

Thank you, I didn't know that xxxx

A great many of the symptoms you actually discuss in your posts - the sleep disturbance, fatigue etc. could all possibly be your fibromyalgia rather than liver or a combination of the two. Heres link to a wee diagram detailing fibromyalgia signs and symptoms.

I have a friend with fibromyalgia and she doesn't half suffer with it all.

Thank you

I did have some of the symptoms when my liver disease was diagnosed, some have come on more recently which like you say could be to do with fibromyalgia. How's your hubby doing? Xxxx

I agree with Ayrshire Lynne, my friends with fibromyalgia get very tired and their memories aren't good either, I hope you feel better soon xxxx

Hi

I have fibromyalgia as well and the brain fog is a definite side effect for most people.

There are some really good fibro forums on this site where you can get information and support for that.

It's difficult ehen you have different conditions giving the same symptoms.

I would say to ask for lactulose to help with the he/brain fog and discuss the cross overs with your doctor.
