Ace inhibitors and coronovirus
I am currently taking 2.5mg Ramipril as part of treatment for AF. Todays Times points to a Lancet article suggesting a link between ace inhibitors and coronovirus infection. I feel a bit anxious an wonder if I should come off them? https://www.thelancet.com/pdfs/journals/lanres/PIIS2213-2600(20)30116

Cataract surgery & MS impact on vision
It's been magical: I just had cataract surgery on my right eye on Monday. And since then I no longer need glasses - short & long distance. Whoohoo The right eye happens to be the one that triggered the MS diagnosis (double vision) and whose nerve is most impacted by MS. I also thought the floaters in

I know that this is a little premature as I still have a long way to go tapering my Prednisone, but does anyone have info on tapering Actemra.

Hi It’s been a long time since I have been on here. I went into AFib a year ago during cataract surgery. In fact as soon as the drops were put in. I've never had a history of high blood pressure etc. I ended up in the hospital for three days. I was released with ectopics and put on Xarelto, metoprolol, and another heart med. They tried cardioversion but

epiretinal membrane and cataract surgery
Thanks everyone who has responded to my previous post. I should have explained what an epiretinal membrane is. It’s a thin sheet of fibrous tissue called a membrane that develops on the surface of the macular at the back of the eye, and distorts the vision. Eventually it can prevent all focussed vision

Anyone react to conscious sedation after cataract surgery?
Today I had my first cataract removed. As I was returning home I experienced a strong headache, aches in my neck and left shoulder and then nausea. I’ve never had this reaction before PMR. Anyone have this experience? Thanks

Increase in Fasting Blood Sugar
Hello All, My FBS has increased quite a bit for the last 10 days. It use be in the range of 90s (mg/dL). It suddenly increased to 120 mg/dL one day early last week. Ever since for the last 10 days or so, it is staying 100+(mg/dL). I have not made any major changes in my diet or physical activities. Yesterday

Apixaban
Hi, has anyone had spinal anaesthesia for surgery whilst taking Apixaban. I know I will have to stop taking it 48 hours prior to surgery. I thought I had seen somewhere that’s it’s not safe and I want to have my facts right before seeing anesthetist on Thursday.

Corona virus & fatty liver?
Please can someone help me by answering this. If I have non alcohol related fatty liver, does that mean I have liver disease and am at higher risk of getting the corona virus? Thank you.

cataract surgery & epiretinal membrane
I have to decide whether to have cataract surgery which might cause complications for the epiretinal membrane on the macular in both my eyes. I am keen to hear any other experience of this - (1) what factors to think about in deciding and (2) what the effect of surgery has had on the epiretinal membrane

Inconsistent swelling
Hi everyone! This is my first time posting here. Please be easy on me! Anyway, I am a 40 year old girl with stage 4 cirrhosis. I really don't know how to wrap my head around it. I find myself feeling completely not believed or something? Did anyone else experience this? But, physically the most

Injections for life? Will health insurance or NHS pay?
I am "only" 53 and have needed to have 2 Eylea injections in my left eye to resolve a slight bleed. So far, so good, but I am wondering if I will need regular injections for the rest of my life? Has anyone else found that a few injections can stop the macular degeneration in its tracks? Also, will my

Cataracts and hypothyroidism
I did my 6 month check up with Rheumy for psoriatic arthritis and as always she puts the flashlight in my eyes and this time she did it and sat back looked through my health record and started asking me the following questions. 1. Do you have trouble driving at night (Yes) 2. Do bright lights bother

having one’s replies switched off
I was unaware I’d committed a contravention(!) and extremely relieved the only punishment was to have my replies switched off! If we’re splitting hairs about what constitutes natural, the only additives in the products prescribed to me by Dr Peatfield are: Each capsule contains: Bovine Thyroid Gland

Fatty liver reversal.
Happy Saturday everyone ! Can I just ask if any of you were successful in reversing alcoholic fatty liver disease ?
