I'm just 23 and I'm sure that I have a wet macular degeneration.
On my left eye. It's totally dark or wavey on the central line. It's like there's a fluid on my eye when I look around. My right eye is starting to have the same symptoms. I've been suffering this for almost 4 years now.
I've tried to explain this symptoms to 3 of our local opthalmologist. They just shrug it off. Providing me very expensive contact lenses that won't help.
I'm pretty sure they don't know what a macular degeneration is or they think I don't have it and this is just a gradual vision loss. I've tried to consult with 3 eye doctors already.
Now I'm losing hope that I'll get this treated. Yet, is there anyone here who knows, or get this symptoms or macular degeneration treated here in Philippines?
Or how could I explain things better when I've found a trusted opthalmologist.. please help

I’m not much help as I live in England but I think you have explained your symptoms very well and I so hope you find someone who will take your concerns seriously. Don’t give up asking for help!
Hi raylabo3. Do you have Eye Hospitals in your country? If so, you could go to the Accident and Emergency Department and ask them to have a look at it for you. I hope you get it looked at soon. Good luck. x
This is good advice to go to an A&E Dept. of an eye hospital. I am so sorry you're experiencing such difficulties. Even here in the UK you come across, (as I did), opticians who seem unfamiliar with wet AMD, (and it was in my 70s).
Let us know how you get on. I am way out of my depth here! But is there a British consulate who can help. I don't know what to suggest. have you tried the Macular Society here? I feel for you, because it's not a nice experience when "professionals" don't know how to cope with wet AMD .xx
