six years ago today!
It is early in the morning and I felt that I needed to tell somebody this info. It needs to be people that can really understand….. that’s where the people in this community come in, since you understand what we go through! Six years ago today I was diagnosed with stage 4, 4 plus 3 w over 25 metastases

Recent Diagnosis
Good evening everyone, I’m new to this forum. My somewhat depressing story is in my bio. Anyone had a similar diagnosis that’s further down the line and can offer any encouragement? One tiny bit of more positive news is that since starting the hormone treatment my back pain (which was the only real symptom

What does ‘neuroendocrine differentiation' mean in metastatic prostate cancer?
My 71 year old dad has been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer with neuroendocrine differentiation - he had absolutely zero symptoms until a lymph node on his neck swelled up. It’s metastasised to his lower spine and sternum too. He’s just had his oncology appointment today and they’re going to

PSA at 0.285
I had my RP last January but the cancers had sneaked out to my lymph node already (no other met) so my PSA was always detectable. I started hormonal therapy last April and my PSA went down right away. It had been that way till this week ( PSA was up and down, the lowest was 0.02, usually was 0.05.).

EMBARK trial
Watching the results of the EMBARK trial with great interest as they had a ‘Lutamide monotheraoy’ arm that has performed very well and now questions are being asked about needing
ADT
for high risk of BCR in the hormone sensitive.

After Lupron I have been having seizures
Hi, In December 2023 I decided to finally undergo treatment for my prostate cancer, Gleason scale 6, with a high PSA of 63 (or 48 on another test) I had had this cancer for eight years WITHOUT it spreading. But doctors kept warning (I would almost say harassing) me, so... I underwent one shot of lupron

HELP! Firmagon reaction?
I only have two injections left and if it is a Firmagon issue, I'll want to change my
ADT
drug in 30 days. Please let me know your thoughts, I don't want to go back to the ER, they just aren't familiar with Firmagon. Hope this was clear, let me know if there are any questions. Thanks!

Orchidectomy?
And there are still many of the same SE’s that are experienced with
ADT
. Aside from avoiding the injections are there other advantages of getting one? Are there certain situations that make an orchidectomy a preferable treatment choice?

For anyone with endo or suspected endo
DR PETA WRIGHT (Taken from Instagram recently) Just a VERY interesting opinion for anyone interested in the bigger picture of endometriosis. Long read! Study hot off the press from Dr Karen Joseph. This study looked at women who underwent laparoscopy for pelvic pain over a twelve month period. Around

Castrate Resistant
I know that patients who were started at beginning with combo of, say, Lupron plus abiraterone acetate are declared castrate resistant when PSA rises in certain ways and/or progression is shown on scans. However, for someone like me, who's been on Lupron only since diagnosis, am I not castrate resistant

Signifficant PSA LEVELS
I'm an 81 year old man who has had an enlarged prostate for several months. PSA tests levels 9.1 and 8.1 (several months apart). My Father died of prostate cancer, which had spread to other parts of his body. Follwing a Digital Anal test, my prostate was reported as "smoothly enlarged and sulcus palpable

Terrible sleep issues
So now I’m 10+ weeks into treatment consisting of Lupron+Abiraterrone and have completed 5 of 20 radiation sessions. In many ways things seem to be going very well. My PSA numbers have gone from 8.4 to .2 and still falling. My side effects have been minimal , only lately have I seen some mild hot

Provenge immunotherapy
After 5.5 years on Lupron (no Zytiga, Xtandi, Daro, etc.), my PSA hit its highest points ever (1.92), although I'm still not 2 points above my lowest reading of 0.5 (only one of those). I'm metastatic and was at diagnosis, so still have prostate. I've been researching Provenge a bit, and understand that

Letrozole alone after a year of chemo
Hi everyone, my mom is currently being treated with only letrozole after a year of chemo which didn't work very well (she is 100% Er and Pr). She took it for 5 months after taxol and it worked much better, now she has a follow-up Pet scan after another 5 months. I wanted to know if any of you have successfully

Would you have NODAL RT in 5 fractions?
As to erectile function, one of the UCLA Drs said it’s hard to state long term ED because many of the men receiving nodal radiation are also going to be on
ADT
for a long time so post-
ADT
erectile function can’t be measured accurately.

How do I gradually run faster, what’s best?
I need to go to go out & do Wk 8 Run 2 this morning & prevaricating (but will do it) …. I’m an exceptionally slow runner and run 1 on Wednesday felt rubbish, so was good to read about Toxic 10 & Tomato Ten in someone else’s post as I do have these! (And in swimming too!) I want to run gradually faster

Cabazitaxel treatment
A shock diagnosis almost seven years ago. Then the merrygoround of surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, hormone treatment and slowly but surely the cancer progresses. Here I am, wondering where to go next and contemplating if chemo with cabazitaxel is the way to go. Does anyone have any experience with
