Advice on Meds Before and After Surgery
Hi everyone. After almost 3 years of thyroid ups and downs - I was fluctuating between hyper and hypo almost daily! I am at last starting to feel somewhere near ‘normal’. I am on block and replace of 40mg Carbimazole and 100mcg Levothyroxine (changed from 75mcg 4 weeks ago) daily. I am also on 4000

Life is a living hell, crippling fatigue and brain fog
23, Male, Caucasian, 5'10, 165 lbs Hello all, I'm sure many of you can relate to my story so here goes. My health has felt like it’s been in the crapper for way too long. When I was 12-13 I was diagnosed with mild GERD (acid reflux). It affected my sleep a little bit from what I remember

Adcal and blood test monitoring
Hi I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in September 2018 following a Dexa scan. The main issue is my right hip but other areas classed as osteopenia. I completed steroid treatment for PMR but due to this and menopause my bone density has been affected. I took Alendronic Acid for a year and stopped it in

Fatigue follow-up!
A lot of us have fatigue issues, even while being on the lower dose of 100mg. Me too! Last week I emailed my oncologist, requesting she add a vitamin D test to my monthly bloodwork. And sure enough it is very low! I saw her today and I am increasing my vitamin D3 supplement. Maybe worth checking in

Asthma & Vit D - 'follow-up' Post
Follow-up to my Post earlier this week (Feb 2019) that included a recent Article Link ref Asthma & Vit D. I take a Vitamin D3 'Supplement' rather than relying entirely on sunshine exposure, because I need ‘better controlled’ daily Vit D3 Dosage than Sunlight / iffy-Weather typically provides. Just discovered

Vitamin D3 + K2 and Mineral Testing
Hi I've been using liquid but it needs to be kept in the fridge and I forget to take it. I could do with a tablet or capsule. Any recommendations? Also if I wanted to blood test a range of minerals, does anyone have a specific test they like? I haven't done one for minerals in general for a while

vegan calcium supplement, please
Can anybody please tell me how to find a vegan calcium supplement that my GP will be willing to prescribe for osteopoenia? It has to be one approved by the NHS. It will be fine if it also contains all or any of: vitamin D3, magnesium and/or K2.

Whats going on??
The last few months have been a bit rubbish. I have secondary hypothyroidism (cause unknown) for the last 23 years (age 17). Up until Oct 2017 all stable and well managed. No nasty symptoms and FT4 and FT3 in the upper quadrant of reference range. Routine bloods in October 2017. Didn't feel unwell

Taking Curcumin
Has anyone here had experience of taking curcumin, not as a part of tumeric but on its own? I'm interested for its inflammatory properties. Thinking of taking this version LLS Curcumin 95 Advanced (containing ONLY ACTIVE CURCUMIN with 95% Curcuminoids + BioPerine®, Vitamin D3, Tomato and Ginger Root

Calcium/vitD
She gave me theical-
D3
1000mg/880iu chewable tablets. They contain less calcium than the
adcal
. Does anyone else have this one. I haven’t seen it mentioned on here. I have read that it is better to take 500mg twice a day for better absorption.

I had been off work for 6 months. 9n return to work on reduced hours I found I was in a lot of pain. Neck shoulders arms to elbow. Hips down to thigh

New member seeking advice for underactive thyroid/hashimotos for 20yrs. Tests showing I need less thyroxine but symptoms show otherwise.
Thyroid problems run in my family. My grandma and father both had hashimotos and had their thyroids removed. I had been asking for tests on my thyroid for years as I showed signs but as I was not overweight and T4 levels 'normal' noone listened. Eventually a private doctor did TSH which was slightly
