Query about reverse t3
I think this is a question for Diogenes. Following some study for a course I have been thinking about t3. I have always assumed that a free t3 blood result will have a proportion of reverse t3 in the result. Is this correct? And liothyronine medication, is it formulated with only the active t3 or is

Wow, I just read the post from the poor guy who is suffering so badly with a cold. Those of us with heart failure and AFib have to be extremely careful not to catch something. I've had an auto-immune lung disease for 30 years, and now since I have AFib and heart failure, I have to be even more careful

weak beats (not able to feel heart beat anymore!)
Last week, one morning I woke up and I was not able to feel my heart beat. I usually had pounding heart beats every morning right after I wake up, due to constant anxiety! I am googling heart failure these days as they say a heart muscle that has been weakened is associated with heart failure. But I

Selected items from the NHS England long term plan Part 5
The long term plan seeks to address Cardio Vascualr Disease. It doesnt mention thyroid disease as a risk factor for CVD. However, the plan does note Atrial Fibrillation as a risk factor for CVD. Most Endos are concerned that either low TSH or high T4/T3 cause AF. The evidence suggests to me that properly

Little update from Rienij.
Good morning friends, just an update from me. I am being very well looked after. Having carers 4x a day. Physiotherapy every day. Doctor payed a visit on her insistence. Because I kept struggling for breath. Got fluid on the lungs, due to the hospital messing about with my meds. And heart failure

Chest Pain
Hello everyone. My husband found out he was in afib a little over a year ago. He has had 2 cardioversions, one ablation. Neither would switch him out of afib. So the reality the dr says is that he will be in permanent afib. He is on a blood thinner and other meds to keep his heart rate at around 60

Steroid pump for secondary adrenal insufficiency with traumatic brain injury
Hi. I’m new on this site but I wanted to share my AI stories, answer some questions and hopefully find some more resources to help us with this challenging condition. I’m reading that a lot of people on this site seem to be taking their steroids orally. I too was started on oral medication, dexamethasone

heart failure after av node ablation
In November last year I had a pacemaker fitted and after 5 weeks had a AV node ablation. I am in persistent AF but intolerant of drugs. Last week I was diagnosed with left sided heart failure. I wrote to my EP at Stoke as I was concerned he is going to see me in clinic at the end of February to discuss
