Lowering eGFR and creatine
My husband was recently diagnosed with stage 2 CKD with creatine around 2.1 and eGFR around 42. Between the time his bloodwork showed that and when he saw the nephrologist for the first time, he went in for a heart catherization. The cardiologist discovered two major blockages and was able to put in

getting back to running
I’ve ran for many years (marathons, 10k, fell running etc.) but ended up have a stent fitted about 3 months ago due to angina (no heart attack) so reluctantly stopped running a couple of months before that. I’m recovering well and now doing cardiac rehab exercise classes which are great but relatively

Post Stent
Hi there… My consultant said I have severe heart disease, LAD 99% blocked, one at 55 and one 45. He stented the main one but said 55 and 45 were moderate and wouldn’t be done. I just wonder, now that the LAD is clear, do I still have severe heart disease or am I now clear? Thank you - this is a great

3rd August I had a full on heart attack out of the blue, stent fitted and send home to recover. Within 1 month I was back walking and at the gym but I couldn’t have done all this without the Rehab team. While at first I was very sceptical about the cardio rehab as I own a gym and have been very

pregabelin side effects
I explained to my dr that sertraline had caused my restless leg to return. Previously it was under control with iron. She put me on a low dose of pregabelin, 25mg to take at night and continue with sertraline in the morning. The first night was ok…ish. I did sleep much better. but the second night

Admitted to hospital last Sunday , vomiting and abdominal pain ,not getting resolved, had a couple of painful procedures but made no difference ,talk of putting a stent in ,ruled out surgery due to disease progression. Thrill rides
Hi, So just before I was diagnosed with unstable angina I was supposed to be going to Disney with my family. I had a cardiac stent inserted and am on the usual medication. Trying to understand if I rebooked whether I could go on the 'big rides' or whether I'd be stuck holding the bags whilst the kids

Back to square one but grateful
Hello friends, having already reported that I’d attempted to reduce my Ropinirole medication prior to my visit to see the GP one back on 6mg tablets spread throughout the day and night, Sue agreed that it was probably the best course of action and I’m again getting some much needed sleep and the pains

Lifestyle changes after a Stemi
I had a heart attack a few weeks ago - and a nice, shiny new stent fitted that saved my life. I only spent a couple of days in hospital, thankfully. I couldn't sleep at all in the hospital - and the food was, ehh, not to my taste, to put it politely. I so want to get better. I want to live more than

Today I feel great!
Yesterday I had some minor surgery but under general anaesthetic. I don’t know if it is the anaesthetic, the oramorph glug I had post op or the day of complete rest, but today, I feel like I did before FMS, RLS and PLMD came to stay! I even slept completely between wee breaks! Long may it last!!!

Stents and HCC
My husband has ascites and oedema which the scan shows to be caused by the original tumour blocking the portal vein. I wonder if anyone has had PVT and was it treated by putting in a stent as the treatment recommended by our oncologist is firstly diruretics and then an infusion of iron? The stent option

Post angioplasty severe pain in side
Hi everyone. So I had my second angioplasty on Monday, the procedure went well from the cardiologists point of view and I have had another stent fitted right next to my first one - they are overlapping. From my point of view however, when he went in my groin it really hurt - I've not had that before

DET fail, 6th transfer attempt - what now?
Help! I have just found out my sixth transfer of my 7th and 8th embryos has failed. I have had one pregnancy that ended in miscarriage at 7 weeks and the rest have all been failed implantations. For the last two transfers i have been on an immune protocol so doctor thinks we have that side covered.

Recently had 4 stents (10 Weeks) put into my heart . Quite fit person prior , non smoker and drinker. Following rehab, medicine and diet as suggested. Now even at 10 Weeks I am getting chest discomfort, which I thought will go away in 6-8 weeks thinking it was stretch pain. It pops up suddenly across
