CABG Scar By Zorro
Had a Cabg 18 wks ago and this left a sternum scar about five inches long.I think they use glue to close it rather than stitches and there was a dressing that stayed on for a few days. The scar was quite scary to begin with but i didn't give it much thought. Then as i got better and my thoughts turned

Travel Insurance with a Stent
I'm getting a stent soon. Just wondering - will this make travel insurance a lot more costly or difficult to obtain?

Post cabg.2- 16wk recovery review
I recovered well, no issues, but my cardio was very slow, and this annoyed me because pre op i was quite fit.I didn't want the op and didn't believe i needed it.Plus i was scared. The surgeon wanted a four way and i definitely wasn't having that.I said i don't want it to to fail, not two years in or ten

pretty gutted and looking for some inspiration.
I’m sitting here feeling pretty gutted and disappointed with myself. Back in November 2020 I had a very mild heart attack and a stent fitted, when I say mild I mean it was mild in form of symptoms and impact in the function of my heart. It was obviously still serious as it was a heart attack and I was

First IVF consult advice: Very high AMH, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome
Hi everyoneI'm looking for a bit of advice - I've got my first appointment with our IVF consultant on the 6th April. I just had my results back from my AMH test and the information package for my protocol. My AMH was 80.2 pmol/L and they're pretty sure I'll get ovarian hyperstimulation - I had horrendous

Heart Meds...Stomach problems...anyone else?
Hi all, I had a H/A in January which resulted in a stent being fitted. I am on several meds Asprin, Atorvastin 80mg, Clopidogrel, Lanzoprazole, Ramipril 7.5mg, Bisoprolol and recently I have suffered severe stomach pain and diarrhoea. This is happening basically once a week and I'm presuming it is

Erythritol has been linked to blood clotting, stroke, heart attack and death
Purified stevia leaf extracts (Truvia, PureVia, others) use this artificial sweetener and I was wondering how this would affect those on blood thinners, like Warfarin, who must maintain a certain pro time level. There was a study done in Cleveland and reported widely with some unexpected results. I

4 instead of 3
I was told when I was last in hospital that I have 4 arteries in my heart instead of 3… anyone else had this ? Apparently it’s not mega rare but was only on 3rd visit after stent and on seeing about the 10th doctor he mentioned it !! Considering the amount of atherosclerosis in them maybe it’s

Yet another procedure!!
I had a double cabg on 18th January this year and now have to have my gallbladder removed!! This hasnt come as a surprise!! I've known about it for a while. I've to follow a special diet for 2 weeks before the op. Everything weighed and measured!! Doing it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'm wondering

Doctor about turn!!
having got down to 1 1/2 pramipexole, i was back to my old insomnia… waking constantly, legs going mad. So time to see Gp. My regular doc had refused to give me gabapentin due to addiction issues. So talked to a different GP. I explained i was no longer sleeping well and she offered me sleeping tablets

finally off of Ropinirole ,what next?
I have had 2 sleep study’s since diagnosis 10 years ago. Not just legs but lim and torso movements. First put on Ropinirole 2mg and slowly upped to 6mg then down to 4mg Used Ropinirole 4mg combined with gabapentin but made we feel very unwell and didn’t help with the rls. After another sleep study

Switching from Methadone to buprenorphine
I’ve been taking Methadone for a little over 2 years after I augmented on Tramadol. I absolutely love how well the Methadone works. I rarely have symptoms and when I do get them a quick hot bath and I’m good again. The part I don’t like is the 20 pounds I’ve gained. It makes me feel hungry all the

Stuck!- Now Surviving on an All Clear Liquid Diet.
Hey all, I just wanted to post an update on my personal Colon Cancer Stage 4 journey. Things have taken a very strange and not good turn for me. I truly am very Worried and Concerned about the refusal of local Drs. to put a Stent into my Colon -(they all say I desperately Need!), so that I can go on

Second opinion?
Hello everyone, Great to have found this community. I'm getting mixed diagnostics from my Urologist: I have a fully collapsed ureter + the severe hydronephrosis is not bad enough to plan the next procedure 4 weeks out. This doesn't seem to make any sense and I would like to review the diagnostics with

Insulin working differently after cabg
Hi I've had a cabg x4. Before surgery my diabetes was stable using both a slow release and a fast acting insulin. Since the operation the insulin is reacting more strongly to the same foods & I can't seem get a balance without dropping - and whichever medics I ask they have no knowledge of this. I

How to wean off of ropinirole and find a good doctor.
My husband is on 8 mg of ropinirole ER a day (4 in morning and 4 in evening. He has been taking it for over 15 years and whenever he would start getting augmentation, he would just increase the dose. That always worked but it’s way too much. We just moved to Florida and cannot find a good doctor for

Gabapentin
I am currently taking 5 300mg Gabapentin a day. I'm also taking 0.5 mg of pramipexole 5 times a day and hydrocodone 3 times a day which helps. Gabapentin alone didn't help me but I hope it does you.
