Purified stevia leaf extracts (Truvia, PureVia, others) use this artificial sweetener and I was wondering how this would affect those on blood thinners, like Warfarin, who must maintain a certain pro time level. There was a study done in Cleveland and reported widely with some unexpected results. I am a user of Truvia which is only 2 grams per packet total and have been for many years. I have been on blood thinners for over 20 years. Below is a link to a CNN story on it.
Erythritol has been linked to blood c... - Hughes Syndrome A...
Erythritol has been linked to blood clotting, stroke, heart attack and death

I wouldn't necessarily be concerned.
Any discrepancy will ultimately be picked up on your next INR.
The people who carry out these studies haven't released any intel on how people on blood thinners maybe affected [they just release the intel they want you to see!].
I have been on Warfarin for 20 years and use Stevia as a sweetener and maintain a good, balanced INR. 😀
Hi
I see your concern and thank you for posting. Although we are all different I quickly looked
at Cleveland's finding and will stop frequenting on the side of caution. Until they decide ! But thank you for bringing this to our attention. I just went through PEG or something else bothering me with vaccines.👍😀
Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you for posting this!
Coumadin for last 3years due to APS. Use stevia almost daily. No problems. Keep in mind, misinfo abounds around APS theorists.
to add to other comments, I looked into this briefly when it first made headlines. From memory, may wish to check, the amounts used were massive & were in a very specific setting. I use it myself & have continued to do so, not as anyone should blindly listen to me of course.
All artificial sugars seem to upset me as does too much of the real thing, so I mainly have a low G.I diet which helps me a lot. MaryF
