Desperately ill and really need help
Hi. I posted a couple of years ago with serious concerns and I just keep getting worse and can't find relief from my symptoms. I have Hashimotos and cannot utilise or tolerate thyroid hormone no matter what combination or type that I try (straight T4, combo T3/T4, NDT or T3 only). I feel so very ill

HC prescription based on saliva test?
Hi All, I did a cortisol saliva test in 2013, all were in range but far from optimal (I read that on STTM). I feel worse and endo sent me for an ACTH stimulation test, waiting for result. If that will be normal, I would redo the saliva test as something is surely not right (in 2013 noon cortisol was

Can a Short Synacthen identify Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency?
Hi All, Can the Short Synacthen Test diagnose (SST) Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency? The test entails administration of an ACTH bio-similar agent to stimulate the Adrenal Glands to produce Cortisol then blood tests are taken at 30 and 60 minutes post administration however surely this will only identify

ACTH stim test
Hello, I’m on 60 mcg T3 only, I take it in 3 doses (4am, 10.30am, 6.30pm) I’ve been feeling very tired especially in the morning but usually not right after I wake up. After being up for an hour or so, suddenly I feel tired, hard to think and move. I start feeling better at about 7pm. I did a saliva

Reposting Question About Adrenals
Is there an adrenals test - ACTH or something similar - as I don't see that in any of my blood test results although would have to double check. Is that another one of those that you have to do privately? I spent a long time writing a post about high cortisol and with all my ranges and it didn't appear

Cortisol/Adrenals
I spent a long time writing a post last night re high cortisol and with all my ranges and it didn't appear :( I haven't the energy to write it all out again. Basically I have high Cortisol outside the range on three successive occasions. My TSH is low but within range. My T3 and T4 both quite low but

Want to know if these things are normal
Are these things usual?? When I'm falling asleep and only when falling asleep, I often get woken up startled with a strange but intense feeling of numb waves starting in my head and going through my chest. It often startles me to open my eyes and I'll check my heart rate and breathing and usually its

Cortisol level...am I normal now?
Hi I have suffered with adrenal insufficiency now for over 3 years and at my worst, just after my adrenal crash, my cortisol was registering at 35 first thing in the morning. (150-600) I am now getting to around 250 in the morning and my ACTH test shows that I can double my cortisol within 30 minutes

NHS tests that may help diagnose adrenal issues
A few people asked what tests my endo ordered in order to find the root cause of my adrenal problems. The ones that are different to the normal lifter function, bone, urea etc. are Heterophile antibody - a test for Epsten Barr Virus/glandular fever. IGF-1 - IGF-1 may be used with other pituitary hormone
