Advice on treatment for osteoporosis.
Hi, I’m new here and this is my first post. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2015 after I sustained a right hip fracture following a fall. DEXA scan showed T.score -3.1 spine; -2.6 femoral neck; -2.9 left hip. I was started on Adcal-D3 and alendronic acid. I stopped the Alendronate after 6 months

Alendronic Acid 70 mg tablets.
Does anyone have any thoughts on Alendronic Acid tablets? My rheumatologist wants me to take it, but for some reason, I just have a really strong aversion to taking it. I keep looking at it but can`t bring myself to take it.

Any advice to get through Christmas?
So sorry everyone for such a late and long post. I am just looking on some advice on how to get through the festive season with regards to diet? I had a failed ICSI round back in July. I cannot believe how quickly the time has passed since, however the heartache still feels like yesterday. I had low

Pain management options while waiting to be seen...
Hi I have had adenomyosis confirmed and Fibroids (one of which is 7cm) summer 2019. I’m mid 40s, two children (adopted). Please bear with me, I waffle 😁 I am in constant pain most days. Undiagnosed Endo?
Hi everyone I’m new to this forum and looking for some advice :) I’ve been battling for years now trying to get some answers. I’ve suffered with very painful and heavy periods since I first started when I was 11 which were eased slightly when I went on the pill at 16. I’m now 26 and the past few years

Perfect periods to misery in 1 year. Will I be taken seriously?
Sorry for long post. I came off the pill (Ovranette, which I'd been on for ~7 years) as I thought it was making my skin bad. I was fine for about 6 months, and then my periods got weird. The time between them was becoming more erratic, and my bleeds lasted longer (10 days as opposed to normal 4-5).

A conundrum for use v. non-use of specific amino acids in muscle atrophy and immune support for CLL patients
CLL and cancer patients, particularly those over 70, are often concerned about muscle wasting or muscle atrophy. Sarcopenia is characterized as the progressive loss of muscle mass that is typically associated with aging. These patients are frequently advised to increase their intake of dietary proteins

Why so many celebs are into Intermittent Fasting.
Hello everyone, Here's an article about celebs who use IF for health and weight benefits. I was interested in Terry Crews saying his day starts at 4-45am with a workout at 6pm not eating until 2pm and just drinking bottles of water with amino acids. And I also like how Hugh Jackman says how much better

Advice on meds that are prescribed with Pred
I’m now on my third week of 25mg Pred as a recently diagnosed PMR sufferer, and likely to be on it for some time, so Consultant has also prescribed me omeprazole 20mg daily, evacal D3 1500 mg twice a day and alendronic acid 70mg once a week, all to help with the side effects of Pred! Does everyone else

Coming off the pill with stage 4 endometriosis
Hey everyone, looking for a bit of advice. I’ve been taking a combination pill of some kind for over 10 years, for the last 3 years or so Yasmin. Not consistent benefit from it to be honest and my endo grew at its most aggressive rate whilst taking it actually. I had all my endo except on my diaphragm

Pre-RA and three months on from initial consultation
Wanted to share an update on my Pre-RA and steps I have been taken. 3 months since seeing GP, and just over 2 since seeing consultant; I have made all suggested changes. Albeit, smoking only reduced by half. I have l lost 12kg now, and am going to the gym 6 days a week. The gym has been really important

In the process of being diagnosed
My periods have been getting progressively worse over the years with the pain becoming more and more frequent and more intense. My period pain was so bad last month I nearly called an ambulance. I was vomiting, passing out and no painkillers touched the sides. I went to the doctors a few days later

Liquid amino acids
Due to having CKD (gfr 56), I started a vegan diet 3 months ago. I was having a problem keeping my protein intake low and still getting enough calories to live. In researching diets I came across something I never heard of before.... liquid amino acids. It appears it would help get daily protein requirements
