Trebuie anticoagulant

Because they are symptomatic (I have strong palpitations at night) I was prescribed beta-blockers and ACE inhibitors. Do I also need anticoagulants? I have a pacemaker, I had bradycardia, my heart is healthy, the mitral valve does not close well, that's all. I forgot to ask the doctor.

Ace inhibitors versus arbs

I was now told that ACE Inhibitors can cause a rise (and I now wonder whether I would have had high BP at all if I had never taken Ramipril?! ) I have again been prescribed 2.5mg Felodipine but now with 1.5mg Indapamine.

Drugs after heart surgery

How long do people carry on taking beta blockers and ace inhibitors after open heart surgery? I had a aortic valve replacement 3 months ago.

Possible links between ACE inhibitors and coronavirus

Over the past few months, many of you may have seen conflicting news stories about possible links between ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers and Covid-19. Here’s what we know about the evidence so far, and why more research is needed.

Users of blood pressure medicine have a lower risk of dying from influenza and pneumonia.

Drugs to lower blood pressure of the type ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor blockers reduce the mortality rate of influenza and pneumonia.

Popular hypertension drugs don't increase risk of COVID-19 severity, fatality.

There have been concerns by the medical community worldwide that the drugs -- ACE inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB) -- might have caused an increase in ACE2, the main receptor for SARS-CoV-2, which could possibly increase the risk for this infection and its severity. https://news.northwestern.edu

ACE Inhibitors

There is currently uncertainty whether ACE Inhibitors, (they treat high blood pressure and the drug name ends in ‘pril’), encourage or deter Coronavirus. If anyone sees any fact based opinions on the question I would be grateful if they could post it on this Forum, or contact me.

Stage 4 ckd with Congestive Heart Failure

I figure the dialysis would be better as i feel I would rather save my heart and keep my blood pressure down with the ace inhibitors, I can live longer with dialysis but nothing to save my failing heart. Any opinions?

Covid 19 protection

So in contrast to recent speculation in the media it appears that drugs such as ARB's and Ace inhibitors may provide some protection against coronavirus. http://links.mkt1881.com/ctt

Antihypertensive drugs & PCa-specific mortality

The reduction in risk was more pronounced for AT-receptor blockers than for ACE inhibitors. However, only post-diagnostic use of ACE inhibitors showed a dose-dependent risk trend.

BP meds

Hi, I have been taking ACE inhibitors to control my blood pressure for a few years. As I work in a supermarket doing online shopping and come into contact with people. Am I in the "at risk" category with COVID-19? Please could you advise. Thank you.
