Cough with all ace inhibitors ?

Does anyone know if you had the dreaded rampril cough does that mean that all ace inhibitors will give you a cough, or are some less likely to?

Can’t answer your question, but I had the Ramipril cough and am now on Amlodipine with no ill effects.

Hi there you have to try different ones till you find one that does not cause you the side effect cough. Unfortunately that may take some time as they like you to try each tablet for at least three months. I was taking spirolactone but following radiotherapy had to stop because of the side effects on my lungs plus the cancer. We are all different, good luck with trying other BP treatments.

Unfortunately, it seems that most ACE inhibitors have the potential to cause cough. I had to go off perindopril because of it and was switched to candesartan (an ARB). ARBs are a similar class of drugs but less likely to cause a bothersome cough. I still get the occasional tickle but not nearly as bad.
