GP refuses to acknowledge I may have PMR, even though he first suggested it!
Also this last fortnight whilst being treated for a dental
abscess
with antibiotics my symptoms have eased significantly. Can anyone offer any advice or recommend a consultant I could see privately as I am taking significant amounts of opiate painkiller and wish to stop.

Week 9 - it's not worked out so well...
I've been unwell, finally got to Dr's and given antibiotics last week for an
abscess
... Managed to complete week 8 run 3 last Saturday and felt great. But started to feel unwell for a few days so took time out.

Fibromyalgia Me
Hi for about 10 years now since after given birth I have been in pain, started off with shin pain then spasm in my thighs, my neck and shoulders are always in bad pain, then the anxiety started along came the
abscess
and skin problems I kept going to the drs and they would say nothing just blood test

Goodbye to prednisolone thanks to Leflunomide
It wasn't completely plain sailing, a few months ago I had an
abscess
in my throat and narrowly avoided being admitted to hospital. However the infusions and antibiotics that I had to take gave me "flare" symptoms. I increased the pred but was soon back to normal tapering.

Breast abscess- age 52
They drained it and got half a syringe of pus out, so it was an
abscess
. The yukky muck was sent off for testing. She said if you don’t hear from us it’s all good. So presumably they’re looking to see which bug it is - my first question is, shouldn’t I be on antibiotics or something?

Methotrexate and getting regular infections
Second infection started this week, so not long after the tonsillitis; I now have an
abscess
on my leg which has developed into cellulitis (which I have had 3x previously over a period of 10 years, but before the RA diagnosis). Stopped the MTX.

The sausage has been vanquished (the secret hidey one, not the sausage that was not a sausage)
A bit embarrassing for Addenbrookes, but a bump they allegedly saw on imaging but didn’t report, later found during my cardiac stress MRI, was looked at by Kettering today and was actually an
abscess
. Yuk. Drained and sent for testing.

Microwave food burn
I recently had a tooth
abscess
(ouch ouch ouch). After a week of antibiotics it didn’t really clear. Had a planned extraction which didn’t go very well (split into 3, anaesthetic wore of and adrenaline crisis!). (Insert many many swear words!) I then managed to get an infected socket!

2 steps forward 1 step back
Two MRIs later reveled and
abscess
on my souses muscle which was drained, however my back is still very sore several weeks later. Then to finish the fun my choline PET scan showed new Mets to my lungs and left femur. So back to chemo for me ( what a great Christmas present).

New findings by a powerful programme studying effects on thyroid function
A similar observation was made by another Chinese group in a population with 240 subjects suffering from pyogenic liver
abscess
, where SPINA-GD correlated to markers of inflammation, malnutrition and liver failure [14].

Well the next day the ‘silent’
abscess
that had been developing under my lower left canine decided to let me know its presence- resulting in an emergency dental appointment over the Bank Holiday weekend.
