Hello,
I normally annoy the BHF forum, having had a heart attack in April.
About 3 weeks ago I had a cardiac MRI to see how my heart was doing/degree of damage etc (we like to do cheerful in cardiology!). At the bottom of the report they noted something my right boob and I was referred to a one-stop clinic. I went for this yesterday.
I hadn’t felt anything so it was a bit of a treasure hunt, but they found what they thought was a cyst. They drained it and got half a syringe of pus out, so it was an abscess. The yukky muck was sent off for testing. She said if you don’t hear from us it’s all good.
So presumably they’re looking to see which bug it is - my first question is, shouldn’t I be on antibiotics or something? She didn’t rinse it or treat it other than drain it (bloody hurt).
I’m post-menopausal so am also confused how/why this has happened. It wasn’t near the nipple, just lower right of right boob.
This isn’t my first breast rodeo, I’ve had previous adenoma, cyst and microcalcifications, all in the left breast. All benign.
I’m rambling, just any advice or experiences please! Struggling to find much on Dr Death Google.
