Good morning to all. Wishing I could make this cancer just disappear from our lives and give us peace.
Because of recurrence, I have been on immunotherapy for the past four months. CA125 has risen, so it’s probably not working. Doc suggested adding Avastin. Has anyone taken these two together for recurrent cancer? I’m questioning my decision to start it or to take chemo again. Please help..❤️

I have been taking avastin with carbo and doxil for eight months. Chemo once monthly. Avastin twice monthly and felt little if any side effects during that time. My doctor wants to put me on a parp inhibitor now that I have completed as much chemo as I can get and w as NTSB to continue with the avastin at well. Right now h as vent received insurance approval for both but from what I have researched its commonly prescribed now alongside other treatment. I dont have any bad effects from it.
I took Avastin (with Doxil) for a few months last year; had to monitor my BP, but it didn't rise. Don't recall any other side effects of note. Was taken off it and Doxil and given Gemcitabine; then taken off that and now taking Avastin again (with Topotecan). This time, my BP did rise, so they put me on a low dose of BP med. Have had some frequent nausea (but not vomiting), but that's probably due more to Topotecan than Avastin. Best of luck to you!!
