Dear lovely ladies, My mum finished her first line chemotherapy treatment (she has 3a2 hgsoc; hrd negative); avastin was stopped after the first cycle because she had a bacterial infection that caused stomach bleeding (and avastin was never reintroduced after that).

Hello I’ve read on here about self funding for Avastin. Can I ask how you go about this? Is it through your NHS Consultant? Thanks for any help xx

Was given eye injection of avastin but didnt improve vision. Anyone else have same issue and if so what course of treatment did you do and was it successful in improving vision?

Had AMD for 3 + years and have Avastin eye injections in 1 eye every 4-6 weeks. Overall I have made improvement with little side effects. As of today I have gone to a lower 2.5 strength readers from 3.5 strength after getting 20/20 on eye chart exam. Anyone else have a similar experience?

My AMD was treated first with Avastin injections but had a rare reaction and was changed to Eylea HD. Now I have a rash that has spread with severe itch. Dermatologist has ruled out every known skin condition and biopsies are negative for cancer.

surgery right away six rounds of chemo and just about to complete her 24 cycles of Avastin. We are scared of death of the lack of a parachute. I’m sure this is a common concern. Not just a physical, but this mental aspect of all this is so so difficult.

I had a ct scan three weeks after my CA125 keep increasing last six month as soon as finshed 18th IV of Avastin. Upset and nurvouse not knowing what will be the side effect of this 2nd line of chemo starting on 27th Dec.

Anyone had same situation.? If so...Any vision improvement after shots?

I was supposed to start Avastin at the same time but I had dental work done and it’s on hold until November. I’m stage 4B ovarian and I’m really struggling with the taxol . I’m really weak and fatigued. Anyone any experience of this . thanks xx

Hi everyone, I'll be starting my Carbo/caelyx or my onc might put me through Carb/taxol again (I had this when I was first diagnosed) and she said they will add Avastin to this combo for the 6 cycles.

Hello, my mum has been having Avastin self funded for approx 21 months now. It does seem to be working as everything has remained stable throughout this period. The question is, when does she stop? Shes gone past the recommended 22 cycles.

I am now going to start a new treatment which I think is Gem Taxol and Avastin. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this as I am hoping this new treatment works.

Started Chemotherapy again after Avastin didn’t work as maintenance. Disappointing especially as Olaparib also didn’t work for me in 2023. After being mostly bald for the past two years (was told Caelyx wouldn’t lose my hair!).

I received first line chemo + Avastin, interval, suboptimal surgery then commenced Olaparib. Avastin continued for the permitted time and Olaparib kept me progression free until July 2024. My oncologist offered chemo (Carbo/Caelyx) as my next option.

Mom (71 yrs) is put on Doxil and Avastin as other treatment failed to response in last one year. Do anybody have any experience to share. I am worried about side effects. Any feedback would he greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, I’m on weekly taxol and two weekly avastin. I was told I will be on this now until I can no longer tolerate it or until it stops working. I had a CT before Christmas and had a partial response. My CA125 has decreased from 1250 to 95.

Lytenava (bevacizumab gamma), is the first licensed version of Avastin for wet age-related macular degeneration. The treatment was approved by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for use in the NHS last year.

., one cycle of carboplatin (couldn't tolerate paclitaxel) and now on Avastin i/v and Olaparib. CA 9, which is fantastic. Side effects are just destroying me. I am 80, the Olaparib goes through to mid June 2026 and the Avastin finishes at the end of this year.
