Oral Cytoxan and Avastin

Hi I have been on Cytoxan/Avastin for awhile now I get Avastin IV every 2 wks and take the Oral Pill every day. I have been noticing bad aches and pains. I guess it’s muscle/joint and even bone pain. Anyone else get this. It seems to be worse now . It’s mostly my hips and thigh. I’m also very stiff !! Getting worried !

I never had this combination but always have side effects from all chemo meds. Stay strong. Millie

Hi Susan: I am also taking that combination. The joint pain is probably from the Avastin - they say taking Claritin or Zyrtec will help. Also, Ibuprofen should help as well unless you are taking a blood thinner. I hope this helps. Cindy

I’ve been on Topotecan alone, about to begin my 4th cycle next week. So far I’ve needed 3-4 blood transfusions (HGB under 7) since because of the anemia it’s caused. But, by golly this drug seems to be doing the trick My CA125 has dropped from 234, 145 (after CY1), 119 after 2nd & most recent @ 83! I’m pretty excited. I hope it’s helping you as well.
