Avastin Doxil

I’m a newbie here ......Scheduled to start 6 rounds of these 3/26/19 ..’’finished 6 rounds of carboplatin/Taxol 11/2018 scheduled for echo gram 3/22 I’ve read up on possible heart side effects and I am undecided on whether to have new treatment ...anybody dealt with side effects?

Welcome! I had more side effects with the taxol than with avastin. Neuropathy, bone pain etc.. the avastin really took care of my ca125. I took it with the taxol and carboplatin starting around my third treatment. I had no heart issues. If your doctors recommend this as the best treatment then I would consider it. I wish you the best. Thank you .,.. I also have side effects from Taxol .. bad neuropathy in my left hand and both feet.,,, I feel more assured about Avastin... I had a port put in on Monday... my veins are pretty banged up from the Taxol and carboplatin .... I start Avastin and Doxil Tuesday .,. Having an echo gram Tomorrow ( Friday ) Will let you know how things work out 😊❤️

I'm glad you got the port and I'm surprised they didn't put it in right away. I tried chemo via my veins and the pain was unbearable. The port is fantastic and maintenance is easy and pain free.

I had taxol/carbo with Avastin added at the 2nd round and continued for the remaining 4. Scheduled to have Avastin monthly for a year starting in a few weeks. Don't know yet how my condition will be but the surgery was terrific and overall, I am feeling great. I have some neuropathy in hands but taking glucosomine to help and a few supplements (Iron, D3, B12) . I did have a port put in before any infusions started and it is super. All the best to you. Every new adventure brings questions and concerns, but with a good medical team and the love of family and friends, faith, and vigilance, better days are ahead. Peace out for now from the sunny S.C. U.S.A. The weird mouth feeling and taste have been the most annoying as it really makes it a challenge to hydrate and eat. Hair loss is no big deal because I am having fun with wigs but looking forward to seeing what my new hair looks like in a few months if all goes well and no other side effects from the Avastin.
