Ca125 129 complex cystic mass

Hi. I'm after some kind of reassurance...Suffered with heavy painful periods for years, so much so that sometimes I cannot move.

Dr's have never been interested at all, low iron has always been a recurring thing.

The last 2 months at some point during the month I've had pain so bad, I've collapsed, second time calling an ambulance. That's when the Dr's listened, I had a blood test (whilst on period) and it came back at ca125 of 129.

Ultrasound found one cyst and one 'complex cystic mass' in the ovary.

Everyone's seemed very strange about it all and I'm getting referred as an emergency.

Could this be what I think it is? Or am I thinking to much into it...

it’s very scary and it’s good they’re dealing with it quickly. Of course it could be cancer, but it more likely isn’t. CA125 is a very blunt tool in that it rises with any inflammation. So until or unless it turns out to be a reliable indicator for you, it isn’t. I do remember this period well, the lack of knowledge and lack of control is hard. You’ll be seen quickly which is good, until then try to read too many cancer stories they’ll just scare you. I had a 40cm cyst which turned out to be something called a borderline tumour. Surgery was basically curative and 5 years on I’m well. Best of luck.

Just be glad they’re paying serious attention. If it is cancer finding it early is key. Also be aware that there are multiple types of ovarian cancer besides the dominant one which is high grade serous. As the other response said she had a borderline tumor which is relatively benign. And don’t look at statistics because they are outdated and do not take into account new treatments. If I were you I would have the ovary and fallopian tube removed regardless. Also the other tube if you are done childbearing. The next step would normally be a CT scan with contrast. The sooner the better. Hang tight!
