Dear All, I am about to start Keytruda as my blood tests shows mismatched repair deficiency for which immunotherapy is advised. I have chronic asthma and so am really scared that the treatment may harm my lungs. I have read that keytruda can have bad side effects. Since in my case chemo has not worked I have run out of options. Please let me know if any of you have had keytruda and what was your experience.

Hi, I haven't had the meds you're talking about but just wanted to wish you luck with the new treatment and hope it all works out for you. Take care. Josie x
I am on Tecentriq which is the same type of immunotherapy as Keytruda. I have had virtually no side effects, certainly less than ibrance. A little fatigue and hair thinning is all. My Onc says the people who don’t tolerate this drug are those with autoimmune disorders, otherwise most do fine. It took four months for the drug to start working and start shrinking my tumors, so have patience. Best of luck to you!
I just wanted to wish you the best with your new treatment. Have read Ketruda is very effective.
Hope you don't have side effects!
Thanks so much. All the good wishes and encouragement have really changed my feelings from panic to positivity. Thank you ladies from the bottom of my heart.
We may have shared info in the past, but I"m MBC, Stage IV and have been on Keytruda since January along with traditional Chemotherapy. My scans have shown decreasing tumor size since starting this regimen. I have only had a few side effects from keytruda, the most key was thyroid, which is now being controlled with medication. Hope this helps.
