Update on Immunotherapy - Keytruda

I would like to share my positive experience with Keytruda. I started more than 4 months back and have had 6 infusions so far. Last week i had a Pet CT scan and it shows complete metabolic response i.e. no FDG uptake. My largest lesion which wss on the left ureter has shrunk to a small fraction of its original size. The report says no SUV readings or no significant SUV in the 4 sites of metastasis.

However my doctor said that since there is still soft tissue thickening at 2 places we can only call it NEAR complete remission. I want to ask if this remanant thickening could just be scar tissue as it is not metabolically active.

My doctor wants me to continue keytruda for another 3 months and repeat the scan.

Please let me know your views.

I think it’s fabulous! I am waiting to see what my next drug is. Hoping it works for me as well as this seems to be working for you! Hope you will celebrate and have some fun future plans

My view is that this is fantastic news!! :) That's great! A couple of people have posted recently looking for folks with experience w/ Keytruda, as they were going to switch to it soon...I hope they find your post! So encouraging! Thanks for sharing!

p.s. Do I understand correctly that this is just for triple negative? Or might it be an option for those of us with hormone receptive BC?

Thanks so much. My recurring tumor was MSI high. Keytruda is approved for all MSI high tumors irrespective of the location.

I'm so glad you're having positive results with Keytruda. I've been on it for a year along with chemotherapy and have good results as well. I hope I can get to a place where I can drop the chemotherapy and just have Keytruda. All these additional meds with chemo-drugs and the chemo are taking a toll. Let us know what you decide. I'm due for another scan in a week or so. As soon as it can get approved....of course.

Also, Keytruda was indicated for PD-L1 expression as well as MSI. I have both low numbers but they gave it a try anyway. Glad for that.

Wish you all the best. Its such a relief when the treament works. In my case chemo failed and then my doctor suggested immunotherapy. I have yet to meet my treating doctor and will decide once he too gives his opinion.
