Scan Anxiety & stress

Scan Anxiety.. I keep delaying my pet ct scan. Its been over 2 years. Was scared of going to the hospital due to covid. In 2020 i was in complete metabolic remission after 6 months of keytruda. Then treatment stopped due to covid lockdown.

Now feel bloated since a few months. No other problem. I feel the cancer has spread to my abdomen.

Very stressed but too scared. I cannot sleep. What do I do? I am a single mother. Somehow have lost courage after fighting for six years & one recurrence.

Please don’t wait… are you her2+ Or triple negative? There are specific new treatments but don’t lose time!!! I’m overwhelmed by scan anxiety but have regular PET scans every four months. Of course I wish you a NED condition 🤗

It was her2 positive. I had endometrial cancer which is similar to breast cancer. I could not find a uterine cancer forum hence I posted here. My tumor was MSI high and so checkpoint therapy keytruda was given.

I have a family member diagnosed with stage 4 uterine cancer-MSI high who was treated with Keytruda for several years. She has been NED for about 2 years now. See your doc and get everything scanned. Keytruda can truly be a cure! -- Trish

Thanks so much for the encouragement ladies. I will get the scan done. Hopefully all will be well or I can restart the treatment.

Please contact your team and get your scans, bloods whatever diagnostics you need asap… one thing I know about our situation is to find out what’s what sooner rather than later. Gather your courage… as you say your a single mother, it’s not just about you x

I can understand your anxiety for sure. We all suffer from it to a degree. On the other hand isn't it wonderful that they have these machines to look at our insides! You need to talk to your oncology nurse and/or your family doctor. They can help.

Cheers, June S.

I suggest you get your pet scan. I totally understand your anxiety as I experience it also. But unfortunately they are a part of our lives.

Please go and get your scan. If not for you, do it for your children. You owe that to them and you should put aside your anxiety and make your appointment. It doesn’t take long to get it done and there is no pain to it. Everything about cancer is scary but you must follow the plan that your doctor has laid out for you. If your fears are true, then you are losing time each day for more damage to happen. That is not good. Just trust in God and He will be right there with you. I am praying that you will get this done ASAP and do not waste anymore time.

Thanks for your replies. I met my doctor today who asked me to first get my covid booster which is due in the first week of July. The full body Pet CT will be done in a large facility and will take a couple of hours at least, so he wants me to be vaccinated. In the meanwhile he has asked me to get all the blood work done in advance at the earliest.

Thanks again for your encouragement. I really needed to hear this.

I wish you all robust health and happiness.

Oh good you got it booked! Important because there is a shortage of the scan medium from china’s lockdown…. But you should be good if you are scheduled.
