I have now quit for 12 days. I have been looking through all of your posts and messages for the last couple of weeks, it has been really helpfull so thought it was time I said hello!
I have tried 4 or 5 times before and not made it but this time I feel very confident and really don't want to go back to smoking.
Feeling much better this week, lots calmer, last week I was like a character in a comedy show sat in the kitchen ranting and raving and moaning on about everything and everyone!
Have done loads of research and searching online for inspiration and advice.
Best advice so far is from this site: Most smokers want to give up so why not just get on with it and get it over and done with now? I keep thinking if I had one I would only have to go back and start again so yeah why not just get on with it now?
My favourite bit of advice however is: Treat yourself at the end of each smoke free week, so far I have had new jeans, a Ralph Lauren sweater, a couple of nice dinners out, and have pre-ordered the iPad Mini. Can't wait for the end of week 2.
Well done AaronD, You should be really proud of yourself. This site is brilliant for supporting each other and encouraging to stop and stay stopped. please join in with the community you will be made most welcome. 12 days is brilliant. keep focused and positive. Your a winner. xx
Good morning AaronD and congratulations on getting to day 12 and welcome aboard - the more the merrier. I think we've all been there on the ranting and raving front - looking over our shoulders in case the men in white coats are around the corner to take us away! Blimey, you must have smoked a lot to afford all that lot in less than a fortnight! You won't be able to smoke again as you'll be taking forever to pay off the credit card bill. ;D Well done and why don't you come and join us on the daily chat - Pete's always glad to have another bloke to chat to.
Good morning AaronD, nice to see you here and a big well done to getting through your first week, cus i do think that that is the hardest time
I think the Girls have said most of it, but truly this is a great site to be a part of, we do try to have a laugh as well, which helps us get through these tough times
If you go to the questions, and down to the Wall of Winners, by Jarvo, then you can post your quit date on their

well done. I've got to day 6 not struggling too much. Last night went out with pal and now she's giving up good to have that support got thoroughly drunk and no fags.
12 days is brilliant, very well done it's a great achievement and I hope you are very proud of yourself.
As Andi said, we have all done our fair share of ranting and raving, I know I've had a fair few grumpy days but they do get less as time goes on.
It's so true about getting on with it, I know before I gave up it was constantly on my mind that I need to give up which is what is helping to keep me to stay off them. I know as soon as I started again I would be thinking about quitting again, so there is little point.
It's nice that you rewarding yourself, it's like giving yourself a pat on the back for the success.
Keep up the good work Aaron and stay strong and we are all here if and when you need us.
Hi Seafrontsos, you are obviously a very good role model for giving up smoking if your friend is joining you I think what you have just done, getting drunk and not smoking is excellent, I find that so hard to do which is why I'm keeping away from alcohol at the moment. Well done on 6 days and it's great that you are not struggling too much, but if you do, you know where we are and everyone, as you know will give you all the support them can.
Take care. xx
