I smoked yesterday. My smoking consisted of 3 half cigs but yet I need my quit date set back. Was it the beer or the boredom of listening to the sports conversation. Probably both. Anyway, not going to kick myself. When I started this I was was doing everything to put myself in a position so I could smoke. I don't do that anymore and I'm not having to walk around with a can of air freshener. I feel that is progress. I feel being here is progress. I know it's not easy but I will concentrate on the good for strength to succeed at this.

Hi there Bonz, Call it a practice run. Your badge stays the same unless of course you slip up again. then we penalise, That is explained in the pinned posts. Just keep on trying it doesnt matter how long it takes you will win in the end. :) xxxx

Hey Bonz, a brilliant incentive to continue with your quit with your badge staying the same :) :) :)

You didn't start again you just had an annoying blip (GrrR) which you will recognise next time round :O you know the score. My partner has been doing the same not smoking, then a day when he goes has a smoke, he has said no more this time and as already said - all practice runs!

MASSIve amount of health benefits so far so still very cool going, you are doing brilliant so I am v happy you are not going to kick yourself but instead concentrate on your progress :-D x

One day at a time. That's what I tell myself. Just because we do something one day doesn't mean we'll do it the next. Even if you slip at least you have accumulating smoke free days which add up and are benefiting your health. When I look at how many years I've smoked I used to wonder how on earth I don't have copd (not that I'm out of the woods yet), but when I add in the times I've stopped, the days i couldn't smoke because of work or other responsibilities then it's not as bad as it seems. Any day without a cig is a good day even if it might not always be continuous.
