Well done for staying awake at work😂

Nicotine is a stimulant so for the first few weeks your body is just getting used to not having it☹️ Have a nice early night and hopefully you'll be fresh as a daisy tomorrow. It will get easier I promise. Are ya remembering to drink lots of water, I hope so. Great quit btw🚭👍🏼😊

in reply to Briarwood

Yes I think earlier nights are in order just seem to be more tired and I am drinking water but again probably not enough. Thanks for the advice :-)

You know ciggy, I suspect that our "sleepy state" is a return to normal & we were in a constant state of agitation when we smoked & felt that as normal.  It's easy for me to say, as I'm retired, but one of the real bonuses of quitting is being able to lie in on a cold winters morning without feeling the driving urge to get up & "feed the beast".

Ha ha ciggygonney :) I know that feeling :) your doing Fantastic. I remember the first few weeks wanted to sleep so much and so  tired. I quite enjoyed it , as not a good sleeper , now I'm full of energy, and back to being up at the crack of dawn as before. Take one day at a time , it does get better :) Hugs xxx

were you full of energy before your quit too?  I've never been a very energetic person, and sure the cigs gave me a bit more energy, but was never "full" of energy...in 6 weeks...I haven't yet felt a "spurt" of energy even.  I just keep plugging along feeling drained, trying to eat healthy hoping for the energy to come.  I think the fact I'm moving again may also be draining me...but I'm waiting for that energy people so often speak of!!

in reply to Carissa28

Yes carrissa I was full of energy before and have felt ok today just yesterday I think it hit me. Could have fallen to sleep within seconds. Strange how your body reacts when it doesn't get its fix.

Hi Carissa , yes your right was always on the go and full of energy before, then a tiredness hit me , and couldn't sleep enough , that went on for 6 weeks. I started walking , and this helped me get back the spring in my step so to say :) you have had a lot to deal with , perhaps when you move and are settled , you could take up some sort of exercise you enjoy. I hope your next place you move to is a happy place and you have good neighbours this time :) you really are doing Fab? I remember your first post and first week and look how far you have come. Stay strong, Proud of you Hun x

Thank you Maddy, i'll be moving in with my parents for a while so I can calmly search for a place to live that is safe and that I can afford, next weekend will be the big move. You're right, I have come far from my first posts, thanks for reminding me...I always seem to find it easier to beat myself up, I need to break that habit pronto!

my mom and sisters walk so I'll hop on board with them to get my butt in gear moving to get some more energy in me!

thanks again!

and how have you been? haven't seen you for a few days?

That's great :) I have been good except for a really bad day at work :( but I'm never going back to smoking feel so much better, so you stick to it. I am off for a week to my caravan, so lots of walks fresh air and chilling and forgetting about work. You tag on next time your mom and sisters go walking, believe me it blow the cobwebs off and get rid of tension. And you have come so far, as you say we forget our first weeks, and sometimes we need reminding of how far we have come. Keep strong and take care :) xxx

thank you very much! and enjoy your week with the caravan!!! we all need a break and work does rub me the wrong way a lot..but it's work after all so what can we expect!

i'll have to tell my family to go easy on me, the last time I went with them I felt like it was a long walk, uphill both ways!!

take care!

I was like that too, but resisting the urge to sleep during the day as I won't sleep at night , I'm a very light sleeper as it is . Very restless 😴😴😴

I think it is quite common to feel tired after quitting. I stopped in November and can remember all over Christmas hols had to be dragged out of bed for lunch literally and would have stayed in bed longer if left alone. It was like a real effort to get up at 2 o'clock. You get over it then it's like you get more energy than before you quit. You just have to get through it. It was pretty bad for me I was wiped out for weeks. A few of the others have report similar effects 😀

in reply to Andrew-S

I know I think at the weekend my kids will be getting me up not the other way round :-)
