well I had hoped that giving up smoking would mean I could keep my teeth, in particular my top back right tooth. but I think I need to face facts and let it go. it has been causing pain for well over a year but I have been in denial. Gum disease sucks!! (I hate I have exacerbated it)
it wont leave me with many teeth. last time I lost one I was in tears.
Ive got the fear! and its not just about 1 tooth.
aaarrrgh!!!!!!!!!!!!
36 days no smoking though and been to yoga 7 out of 8 days.

Wow, yoga 7 out of 8 days.......... Now that's impressive👍🏼😊
Years ago my dentist said smoking causes gum disease and more teeth are lost through that than anything else☹️ Did I listen, naaaaaagh😩 I honestly think if more people realised exactly what smoking does to your teeth and gums, they would stop sooner. Mind you, having said that I didnt😱 I feel your pain but it's better to have it out and be pain free. Now that you're smokefree, at least it won't get worse. You've got the fire so keep it burning😉 Good luck🍀
Thank you Briarwood, really appreciate your feedback. ny dentist warned me about impact of smoking. a longvtime ago. did I listen? obviously not.
Appreciate having this forum to turn to. most friends are either never smokers or still smoking and Im needing a smoke free space to moan, be smug (on occasion ) and hear others stories.
Hiya fire, I've lost 4 teeth, 2 up top and 2 down bottom all from smoking.... I also have another bit of a tooth left down the bottom which needs to come out 😟 I am now looking at implants for at least two but if I can afford it then 3.... I hate being without these teeth but better out than pain. Hope you get yours sorted soon hun 😊👍
Welllll they drill a hole in the bone and insert an implant.... Takes a few months for the implant to fuse.... It ain't cheap, about £1200 per tooth😟
Hopefully it won't be too painful 😱😊👍 I'll let you know how I get on.... Apparently if the bone is not strong enough they can graft.... I really like going to the dentist - normally - but not sure how I'll feel after this 😊
