I've been a smoker since I was 12yrs old tbh I can honestly say it was only light smoking up until I was in my 20's then in my 20's it turned to 20 or more a day. When I did the co2 test in May it was off the chart past 30. I am now 34 and finding it vary hard for the egg to attach to my womb lining πŸ˜“, i had my wonderful daughter when I was 18yrs old and was on contraception till my early 20's but since then I've been pregnant 4 times 3 miscarriages and one partial molar πŸ˜“πŸ˜“, I also get a positive test most months which they call a chemical pregnancy!! Well I'm telling u all this cause I want u to know quitting smoking is soo hard, I have tried many of times with many different aids, I now see I was never really ready.... This time tho I feel empowered, thinking of how much I want a baby is stopping me even thinking about a fag.... It's been exactly 7 days cold turky this is the first time since I was 12 that I have 0% nicotine in my body & 0 co2 which is also off the chart in the opposite direction... I'm shocked I'm finding it a lot easier than I though... But I guess my want for a child is my driving strength... πŸ‘ŠπŸ½πŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½ 🍼🍼🍼

Hey Lulubunni πŸ‘‹

Well done on being SmokeFree for a week πŸ‘

Don't know if you've read Allen Carr -"Easyway to stop smoking" it really helped me and others on here 😊

There is a post by Andrew that Jason Vale stop smoking app is free to download at the moment, had a quick look and it seems to be along the lines of Allen Carr. Why not give it a shot??

You can do this Lulubunni, be strong, be positive and NOPE ‼️

Xx

Hi ya Lulubunni, am just loving your name :D :D :D a big warm welcome to our lovely quit smoking support community :) and a big YIPPYYYYY DIPPYYYY DOOOO to you for reaching 1 week quit :) and cold turkey tooooo :) :) I do take my hat off to you, cos I know that I just couldnt have done it that way :o :)

I hope your very PROUD of yourself :) cos am dead proud of ya gal :) :) You sound in the right frame of mind too and have the most fantastic reason to quit, a baby :) :) You just keep on reminding yourself about it eh :)

I see some of our lovely members have given you some great advice already :) If you have a look to the right of your post, you will see ''Pinned Posts and Topics '' there's loads of advice there :) :) I will advise you to make a quit plan, cos this could help you later :) For a starter, sit yourself down and write a list of the WHY's you want to quit smoking :) I can think of one right now :) ''BABY'' :D :D but am sure you have lots more, perhaps make a few copy's of it, make it bright and cheerful so it stands out :) stick them around the house, where you think you may get that flippin urge to light up :o and always keep one with you, just incase you need it when your out and about :)

Think about your trigger points :o where are you ? what time of day is it ? what are you doing ? etc :) then have a think how you can change these :)

Lulu, you say you have tried many times before to quit, as I think most of us have on here, myself included :D some people take them as failed attempts :o but we class them as Practice Runs :) learn from them, what made you have that first flippin puff :o cos you know what they say dont you, practice makes perfect :) :)

Good luck on your quit journey, if you need any help, you come a shouting :) and just remember, you have to really WANT to quit to quit :) NOPE, Not One Puff Ever :)

Pete :)

Hi lulubunni and a big warm welcome to quit support.

Congratulations on not giving up on becoming smoke free :) :)

I feel many of us have had unsuccessful attempts of quitting smoking as wasn't really the right the time. When the time is right, you commit yourself to your quit and face what ever quitting throws your way :) :)

I quit cold turkey and the quitting part i found very easy - it was the physiological things that i struggled with but even then, I turned it around to a positive :) :)

Enjoy your new found freedom :) :)
