Good morning Jilly and everyone, the sun's shining again - could be a good day for gardening or spring cleaning to get rid of all the stinky smoke smell for many newbies. Imagine the curtains blowing on the washing line and that lovely fresh air smell as you iron them before hanging them back up again.
The reason for Good Friday as a Bank Holiday seems to be disappearing into the mists of time - used to be one of the most religious days of the year and there was hardly anything to do. How times change.
I couldn't get out of bed for my run this morning so am going to take advantage of the weather and quiet roads and have an early-ish bike ride before coming back for my hot cross buns. Have a good day, see you later.

Sooooooo, you had a lay in this morning then, it was our Chrissie yesterday, now you today, hmmm, must be something going around eh Enjoy your bike ride Andi, and of course your hot cross buns
Good Morning Monky and all!!! Monky I didn't lie in yesterday, I slept in - there is a difference :).. Now TODAY I had a lie in - and that was lovely
Andi I totally agree with you regarding the change in the bank holiday - it is more like another spring bank holiday now which is actually quite sad in a way - times have certainly changed
Anyway I intend to be a bit of a domestic goddess today - no I'm not baking cakes - I'm doing some chores with the windows wide open and the music blasting and I shall do a happy dance in the process for all of us on this amazing stop smoking journey - please don't hesitate to join in, I wouldn't mind the company!!!
Whatever you are doing - have a truly wonderful day xxxx
This new android phone is doing my head in! Used to type with my finger nails on the BlackBerry, now it's my great fat thumbs, and weird predictions! Takes ages, but got to keep up with the technology. Birthday present from my lovely kids
Anyway, going g to ask if you seeing your family today Jilly? Bet they are getting excited for the Easter eggs !
Happy Easter to you too Betts. No family left here, got a sister in Austria and brother in Australia so am all on my tod. (Never been married and no kids - sound like a real saddo!) Right, time to go.

Good morning to you all, yep Pete we've got some of that there sunshine, wall to wall at the moment and byootiful blue sky. Off out this after for a cruise alongside the canal on our mountain bikes. If I'd known it was gonna be this nice would have made a day of it. We could have attempted to get to Sowerby Bridge, perhaps even Hebden Bridge, almost Norah Batty land that isn't it Pete?
Have a lovely Good Friday everyone whatever you do today.

Have just been outside to test the temperature and I have to say that despite the sunshine its still flipping ganzy weather.
Bad. My dad always used to call a jumper a ganzy, I don't know why cos I've just googled the spelling and apparently its Black country dialect and he doesn't originate from the Midlands.
Yup, last cig was on the Sunday so Monday is my official stop day - WEY HEY!!! I'm actually quite excited about it as I'm definitely feeling a bit left out today
Good Morning All and hope it most certainly is a Good Frday for you all
Briarwood, yaye! You made it to your first full month smokefree You are now into week 5! Well done you
Sin, have a lovely bike ride and enjoy the sunshine
Andi, you're not a saddo at all and have a jam packed life. If I was single and no family near, I would be away travelling to far off lands. Mind you, I wouldn't be able to have my chucks, puppy dog and hoggies then would I?! You asked yesterday where Agnes & Gertie live... They have their own hen house outside, usually running free all the time in the garden but hubby keeps pulling a face at them being on the nice grass part. So, we've just built them a run so they can have ther own little garden and we keep ours poop free They can still pay out though whilst I'm there
JillyGirl, enjoy your shopping and then your walk. Thans fr the info on breathing, really useful
Pete, I'm going to do some gardening today, returfing and planting. Shall let you know how it goes. May have to have a glass of wine in the garden later so I can take in my days work!
Mrssunnyside, in with the Easter eggs... Pulling tongues and blowing raspberries to the spare tyre Happy chocolatey Easter!
Hey Betts, I have fat thumbs on my iPhone and when on my iPad I have a fast typing finger but a really old iPad that keeps on missing letters out and makes up the most weirdest words on my spellcheck I have to keep checking everything before I submit!
Mickyt, enjoy your day. I hope you are getting up to something nice but keeping out of mischief
Big waves to everyone else and Chrissie if you're up yet
Right, another cuppa before I crack on. Shall pop on later and share some Chocoate and love
Well I'm up and feel beautifully refreshed after my lie in so I'm full of beans again and raring to go - although I think I might be joining you with the "nodding off" reputation
It sounds like you may be suffering after all that work in the garden today, so do enjoy a glass of wine later so you can appreciate your efforts - and then maybe a nice soak in the bath to ease those aching muscles?
I'm feeling a bit left out at the moment - No badge!!! But not long now and I'm so excited!! I would really love a pink sparkly one when it comes, I really reallly would!
Wow 3pm already! Doesn't time fly when you are having fun?
I'm delighted to say that I can now see the colour of my carpet again! I'm also proud to say that in order to achieve this, I had to actually "fix" the dyson, so who needs a man around! Actually it was just the bottom bit which covers the roller which had come loose - I just couldn't work out why it wasn't picking up properly - it is now!
Being a domestic goddess is actually hard work, I had to sit down for a rest because this is like doing a work out! It is funny though because I always thought it was the smoking which caused the dust in here - but as I haven't smoked for a few weeks now, and I have obviously cleaned several times in the meantime, where is the flipping dust coming from? I think I've got dust fairies, or maybe they are dust monkeys
monkyAdministratorCake sniffer outer• in reply toChrissieG
Hmmmm, I take my hat off to you Chrissie, flippin well done you gal for sorting your oooover out
Ermmmm, about this ear dust problem that you have, if you didnt dust, then you wouldnt have a problem eh
As for you implying that us monkys make dust, I assure you young Lady, us monkys do not make dust wherever we go, we just cores confusion, sleepyness, stupidiness, laughterness, smoklessness, brainlesness and mishaps sooooo, you see, us monkys havnt got time to cores any dust eh
monkyAdministratorCake sniffer outer• in reply toBriarwood
Aup Woody, you could come to mine and do some gardening, and Chrissie could go to your's and do the cleaning, and I could just sit back and slurp on a lager eh
I've just acquired a Dyson. Not a new one I might add but it apparently needs a bit of fixing, mind you it comes from a smokers house, so I don't know, if it starts making my house smellier than my old vacuum does I might have to sling it.
I know what you mean about the Domestic Goddess stuff, I tried that last year, wasn't too keen to be honest. Well done you for spending a beautiful sunny afternoon cleaning.
Yes, that sounds lovely. I've had my tea, hungry work all that cycling but I'm sure I could fit in a couple of bbq'd sausages and some spare ribs and definitely wine I couldn't have any tonight as hubby has a bit of a dodgy tummy so I settled for a can of beer.
don't worry hun, I'm just popping to the shop for some more wine and some lemonade (danielle is joining us and she wants port a lemon!) - Daren't touch Monky's tinnies - he might have a monkey fit! I'll be there soon xx
Don't forget my shiny sink thing last summer, it's not that shiny any more. I am getting on amazingly with my office decluttering event at the moment, its really coming along.
haha, it's looking as um......cluttered as ever. Mind you its not my rubbish, it's that hubby of mine who shoves everything on there. It currently has on it 2 meerkats out of the campervan, a selection of inner tubes that he's chucked out of his bag before we went out, and other various bits of junk, an electric staple gun, tape measure, a set of spanners or something and sat in the middle of it all is a nice vase of flowers that my mum gave me for our wedding anniversary.
I'm not convinced, I'm thinking of calling the dept of monkeys to check out if what you say is true! There has to be a reason for all the dust and I'm very suspicious that dust monkey are involved!!!
By the way - I nearly wet myself laughing at your post! So funny!
monkyAdministratorCake sniffer outer• in reply toChrissieG
OY, Chrissie Dearest, you go flippin powder your nose gal, cos we dont want any accidents on here seeeee
What a stunningly beautiful day its been. It wasn't really cracking the flags, wish that cold nip in the air would go away but still had a lovely bike ride out this afternoon. Just over 20 miles there and back along the canal. Got as far as the garden centre. Hubby turned his bike round ( ), I powdered my nose and as I thought we ought to at least look like customers rather than 2 people availing ourselves of the conveniences I had a quick shufty round. Spotted a lovely garden bench that would look very nice in my back garden.
Didn't get off to the best start as hubby, ever the optimist only put on a thin top and no jacket so turned round and went back home to get changed. I carried on. He finally caught up with me on the canal, then realised he'd left his bag at home when he got changed so we had no money and nothing to drink or eat. So he went off on another detour to my daughters to cadge a bottle of water and some money. I haven't been on my mountain bike since last year. I love it, it's like sitting on an old comfy sofa, it weighs about 3 times more than my road bike but the gears shift like they're wrapped in silk, never a wrong move. To round off a lovely day when I got home the dog was sick in my slipper - nice
No I didn't get the bench, would have struggled up the hills a bit on my bike with a 5ft long garden bench strapped to my back. Am thinking about whether to go back for it though as it was very nice.
When we get home the dogs all run round with my slippers, but the Rottweiler had just had a drink, she drinks too fast so the next minute with my slipper in her mouth she projectile vomited the water she'd just drunk into my slipper. Yuk, sorry if you're just tucking into your barbecue,
Hmm, there's half a bottle left from last night but we are so bad me and hubby with sharing wine, we put the glasses together so that we have exactly the same amount out of the bottle or we end up arguing over it, hahah, how sad are we.
sorry for the delay, there was one lady in front of me in the queue when I got there, then she started faffing around with paying, she literally counted every penny in her purse and then paid for the balance on her card - by the time she had finished there were 12 people in the queue! Obviously there was only one assistant on at that time - she said it had been a busy day and I thought she was going to burst into tears bless her!
