Smoking is so horrible I hate it so why do I do it
Hello lee2828,
Welcome to quit support again, I say that as you have been on here before, if I am correct. First of all
are you using any nrts. to help you. Ask yourself why are you smoking is it habit as in routine, if so try change what you usually do. Do you smoke with other smokers or only when you are at work or home.
Study carefully. Your brain is so used to saying you need the nicotine. break the habit. use a nrt to help you take that urge away. Read through some of the posts and questions on here for tips and help. Emjay or Eye our advisors will contact you if you need help. Meanwhile rant and rave , moan and groan on here believe me it helps.
Keep trying and try not to think of failing. Try to think of all the benefits if you succeed in staying quit. It really does bring freedom and could save your life. There are many examples from people here on this site who have succeeded and have saved their lives. This is a very supportive place with advisors and others who care very much about helping so don't be afraid to ask away.

Hi Lee,
Don't despair, if your desire to stop smoking is strong you will be ale to do it. You know it is normal for people to try to stop and then relapse, it's all to do with the strong hold nicotine has on your brain. The main thing is not to give up giving up.
It would be useful to know how many you smoke a day and for how long you have smoked. How soon after you wake do you smoke?
How long have you been able to quit for in the past and what was it that caused you to start again?
If you don't like smoking then that is a start. Most people only 'enjoy' a couple of their cigarettes each day, do you enjoy any? If so, which ones?
It might be a good idea to go and see your local stop smoking service as they will be able to offer you NRT to help overcome your nicotine cravings. Something like Champix may also be suitable for you.
I know I have asked lots of questions there and with the answers I am sure we can help you plan a way to quit for good.
Don't worry, you are in the right place to get help from all the lovely people here. Hang in there. You will get there in the end. Best thing is to plan your way forward and we can help with that.

It is hard but worth it ... I'm still on the E-Fag, cheating I know, but it's better than Mr C-Stick.
It's not cheating. I bow to anyone who can give up smoking with an e-cig, I've found it to be pretty useless myself, each to their own I guess but its certainly not cheating, for me an e-cig doesn't hold a candle to a real cig so you're doing very well.
