Hi everyone! I just recently came across this site so I am a Newbie at this. I quit smoking 110 days ago!!! After almost 25 years of smoking. Yeah me!!!๐Ÿ˜Š I was wondering if anyone has experienced not coughing up any gunk and gross crap? My chest feels very heavy and tight but then again I recent caught a flu bug๐Ÿ˜ท.

About 15 years ago I quit and coughed up so much stuff...it was scary but actually a relief-good feeling kind of thing. can anyone relate/help? Thanks ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Oh P.S. How do I change my profile pic ๐Ÿ˜œ

Hiya Buttout and welcome to quit support ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Congratulations on 110 days quit, terrific achievement ๐Ÿ‘

Not everyone actually develops a cough when they quit but if you feel as though you need to, there are some breathing exercises to help bring it up. At the top of the page click your name and news feed comes up, then go down to breathing exercises to get up gunk. Hope this helps. You can change your profile pic by going into profile and click change but if you're on a mobile device it nots possible to do unfortunately๐Ÿ˜ข

You may just be feeling the after affects of your flu so hope you feel better soon ๐Ÿ˜ƒ x

You may have a chest infection following flu - tight chest etc - please see your doc or nurse and see if you need some antibiotics to clear it....... :)

Aup Buttout, a big warm welcome to our lovely quit support forum :) and a big well done to you for reaching 110 days quit :)

As Briarwood and Droopy have said, not everybody develops a cough when they quit :o but I have bought a breathing exercise up to the top of this page which may help :)

If you look to the right of your post, you will see ''TOPICS'' in blue, just have a mosey through some of them :)

Take care now and keep focused, cos your doing just great :)

Thanks Dee Dee and congrats on 8months!

This is such a new way of life.

I can't sleep either!!!

So lazy all day that when it is time to go to bed I end up laying in bed hours awake, grr!

The benefits outdo the crappy side effects but it sure is stills hard, easier now but I just wish I could forget that I ever smoked!

Hi Butt-out 74

Wish I could 4get that I ever smoked too. It completely controlled my life.

I looked forward to it every freakin minute of the day. I just couldn't inhale any more. My body finally shut down. Sad thing is," I would probably still b smoking if I was feeling great..... Worry too about contracting one of those cancer related diseases.

Dry cough here and at 130 days. I think we are good. Has a doctor listened to your chest and breathing? That's who should tell you what's up.

Good going!
