Arghhhh I always struggle at weekends does anyone else? I think it's lack of routine and a touch boredom. What do you do to distract yourself?

Hey Al, don't get down about it. That's how we started getting daft on here. We were always on here trying to think of things to get rid of the cravings. These included bashing cushions, shouting them away and various other methods. We also had spears that we would use to attack them with. Maybe that technique would be good for you - or maybe you could "borrow" something from work! Anyway, here's something to be going on with.
Al my flower,
I so feel for you coz what's meant to be the 2 days in the week when you get to chill you spend fighting the nicodemon.
Do you have any decent walks near you ?Why not plan a walk once a week.If you know someone with a dog all the better, volunteer to take the dog out. I know you bake so maybe spend some time baking your bread (take your frustration out on the dough) Do you swim/have a pool you could go to/meet friends at.You said you would learn cross stitch, why not take up a craft that you could use (card making, decoupage, painting) Find local craft fairs, church bazaars where you could maybe sell things.Start a board on Pinterest and pin all the stuff you want to buy with your quit money (SHOES!!!!) : )
Sorry if the suggestions are going over old ground but I think you're absolutely right,it's a change from the normal weekly routine that just throws everything out of balance. It can only get easier kiddo, and I just know it will. Hugs H x
Awww thanks Helen, I have 2 dogs so I walk them, the problem is I am so far from home ... And without wanting to sound like a real sad sac I have no friends down here up home not a problem got plenty who are all rooting for me. So it has to be a hobby, also don't know this area at all! Can't drive down here as too busy and a bit nervous of the traffic, also my partners car is an Audi and although I am insured on it, don't think he would be too pleased to find out I had wrapped it around a tree lol!! I will look into card making as could maybe save some more money that way too lol! I will be pleased to get back to work tomorrow to get back into a routine!!! Oh I have a bread maker I am not that good to make it on my own hun lol xx
Andi,I bet is,which fitness DVD do you use ??! : ) : )
Al,it's really hard for you being so unsettled but you're doing just fine.I only ever sat 1 driving test (in T.Wells) & failed it miserably so I can appreciate how hard it is to drive down there.I admire the fact that you can drive at all, thought about asking new hubby to teach me but maybe NOT such a good idea !! Check out local authority website for classes (like nightclasses but at weekends instead) they do all sorts. Some places do stuff like aromatherapy/massage etc.A useful skill to have. There used to be a,place in T.Wells called Bretlands,I learnt aromatherapy there, not sure if it's still there or what they would charge tho Make your bread by hand and whack that dough like there's no tomorrow!!(yes you can make bread by hand I know this coz I have every confidence in you) I would honestly look at trying something crafty that you could sell on I'll buy one & when you're famous I can boast that I have a Pinkiezoom original.Stay focused, weekends are very hard but when stuff is hard you just keep practicing until it gets, easier.
P.s.Ever thought of learning a musical instrument,a lot of music shops have a hire scheme for small stuff (flutes, clarinets etc) and some even loan out books(tune a day books) Just a thought.H x
Loads of good ideas Helen thanks I have just managed to get a little place up home so can go up more often as less of a hassle if I have somewhere to stay rather than friends having to squeeze me in so thinking.... And it may be ambitious but I have always wanted a homemade patchwork quilt!!! And I have a couple go things from my late mum and my christening robe to add into it. A captain at work does it and offered to show me the basics so going to take her up on her offer tomorrow this will also get me out and I can use it for new bed when I am up home x
That sounds a plan Al. I recently got a Wii fit which I started using at the weekend, mind you it's not working - havnt lost much weight yet. But I'm with you weekends are much harder, I want to get that Friday feeling back - just havnt worked out how to yet. X
Hey Beth someone else has got a wii fit too, I went looking for a second hand one but couldn't find one. Will have a look on eBay maybe yeah I kinda dread the weekend at the moment Hun but hopefully it will get easier. I thought the tough bit for me would be after an evening meal..... But handling that ok lol! X
Hi Beth and any other Wii users - My Fitness Coach - Get in Shape is a good one for the Wii, its quite old now so should be quite cheap on Amazon. Don't need a step either though it does let you incorporate weights, gym ball and something else, can't remember what tho as I haven't used it for ages. eeeek just looked on Amazon, don't pay £15 for it, it's ancient now, try some of the games shops that sell second hand games.
Thanks sinfree will check that out x
