Profile Update

I was going to update my profile but after adding additional ailments several times and then having them disappear, I have decided to inform via this post. I was diagnosed with PMR early 2016 with 15 mgs prednisone. Since that year I've had right leg replacement and bleeding ulcer at the same time in 2017; another ulcer event 2018; PAD diagnosed 2021, left hip replaced 2022, and left knee meniscus repair last week 2023. I am currently on 1/2 mg pred with PMR in remission for the last year; Cilostazol and Rosuvastatin for PAD; low dose Liisinopril for high blood pressure; low dose Omeprazole for ulcer. I have always been a dog walker and still walk over a mile to town and back at the age of 85. I have been fortunate to have a good surgeon and a GP who listens and advises carefully. Exercise and healthy eating are very important. I would feel naked without a (small) dog and leash attached to me during my walks. I credit this forum, especially PMRpro, for keeping me informed on most of my ailments.

Silly question, or not.... but when you are trying to update profile are you ensuring you save it? Sometimes if you are concentrating on putting in details, you sometimes miss the obvious. Can I ask what device you are using when trying to update, some are easier than others..

I clicked on Profile Update and entered info in whatever would take it. I tried several times. Some items that were there disappeared. I am not going to try again. Don't recall any "save."

Odd - and yes sorry they have removed the Save button

Did you get message “Click here to add info faster” -

Then new pages with options to select -with “skip this question”or “continue” choice at bottom of each page … then you carry on through each page -until you get to “what’s your story” -once you’ve find your amendments again select Continue . Then final page should show “Done” box in blue.

You should then be able to view your profile and see changes…

I haven't seen any of your descriptions. I will look again another day as the previous sessions were very frustrating.

Maybe for some..but most info only has to be entered once. But you do have opportunity to update the bio part as and when necessary…

Thank you for the reminder about the importance of diet exercise and doing something enjoyable like dog walking. I was just listening to Michael Mosely on radio 4 talking about the health benefits of a cup of tea and listening to music. Having lost my 2 elderly cats over the last 18 months I am considering a dog next but nervous about making the decision. Its definately an extension to the family. Do you stop for a tea or coffee once you get into town?

During the summer I can as weather permits for outdoor establishments to have tables outside for dog owners. I was in my early 70s when getting my one year old rescue dog and determined that I must live for at least 15 more years and that length of time has almost arrived There are so many dogs of all breeds that need homes and young ones take more energy than I have for my age. I so appreciate my dog (and cat) because she can go where ever I do.

Yes I always have rescue animal companions. I was surprised and pleased to find that some hotels also allow dogs for a small extra payment.

I have a neighbour in her late 80s who regularly walks a little white dog and also does some gardening. Sounds like gentle regular exercise is a good idea.

Yes, walking is especially important to me now as I was diagnosed with PAD a couple of years ago and walking, plus medication, has prevented vein surgery.

You have encouraged me to think more about a new furry friend.

Keep enjoying your walks.

There are groups that seek homes for elderly dogs whose humans are too unwell to keep then or who have died.

I’ve had the same issues as you. Finally gave up and I pushed all the right buttons to save.🤪

Thanks for that. I was beginning to think there was something wrong with me.
